Ooooh cat people....I think Marie has some cats too.

I had 4 dogs thruout my life (not all at the same time), the 4th passed on over a year ago at age 14+1month.....still miss her very much. My sis got another mutt recently and I hope I can afford one when I get back to SG after finishing school.

I've had cats occassionally (they come and go as they please) and hamsters, fish, turtles (endangered ones, I feel pretty bad about it after I figured it out), birds, and a lizard at one stage. But my dad tops it because he had a Cayman croc when he was younger and they sold it to an ad agency when the damn thing got to 7 feet.

Oh cool. Maybe this thread could also be used as an art thread. Post your photos and sketches of your pets! Yeah good idea Some Guy.

In fact here's mine. It's old and I think I posted this somewhere before but whatever...

My dog Jesse, she's a girl with a guy name *shrugs*. She's a Bichon Frise/Cocker Spaniel mix.

She stole my burrito!

Myself talking on Skype and she attacked my lap. That is what she looks like when she's not a dirty hair-beast (that is to say, when she's groomed)

And some drawings of her for good measure.

Chopper the little black bastard. He's half chihuahua and half pom...although you can't really tell he's got any pomeranian except for his neck mane and his head is more like a pom's than a pure chihuahua.

This was Stella, my giant Gambian pouched rat. She weighed about 6 pounds, and was about the size of a really fat kitten. She liked scrambled eggs, wanton destruction, and the sweet, sweet taste of human blood. Her favourite game was sneaking up on me while I was using the computer and biting my feet. I would scream and jump, and she would make this noise at me: http://www.rattysghost.com/noises/eekynoises.mp3 . I totally loved Stella. But then I found a lump under her skin, and it turned out to be cancer that had spread all through her abdomen. She died while the vet was trying to remove the cancer, at my somewhat irrational insistence.

These are Rat A (the black one) and Rat B (the yellow one). They aren't as good as Stella, but at least they don't bite:

http://rattysghost.com/images/rats/rat_a_hiding.jpg

http://rattysghost.com/images/rats/rat_b_nose.jpg

Rat B is really, really stupid. Rat B falls in the trash all the time, and isn't aware of the back of her own head. (Seriously. I have to clean it for her every couple of weeks, because she's too dumb to clean it herself.)

Ive had him for a little over 2 years now...got him when he was a wee lil thing at 2 weeks old. heres a few pix i took a few days after getting him.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/hwillens/franky2Small.jpg
they are so cute as babies.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/hwillens/baby_franky.jpg

not the best quality image since the window was open, but its priceless :^^:

he's taking his 4 month nap right now(brumation) which kinda sucks...its like i only have my reptile buddy half the year. then again, it is cool not having to worry about feeding him.

i love all reptiles and want to get either a king or corn snake eventually. but its definitely a large investment. I probably spent nearly $500 for everything for franky in the beginning. but i mean thats mainly because i have a 55 gallon tank to hold his 24" body comfortably.

heres a rad close up showing his pretty sandfire coloring:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/hwillens/franky-close.jpg

i tried being part of a reptile forum for a while until i realized it was mainly 12-14 yr olds on it....felt a bit out of place.

sorry to hear about your iguana, timpaatkins. poor iguanas...the most abused reptile out there. so many people get them as babies thinking they are so cute, then they grow up and arent thought of as "cute" anymore and get neglected or mistreated. most people just dont know what they are getting into, i think. id love to see pics of your buddy!

Pretty cool dragon Bluegoddess. I like your Ferris too, the abyssinian breed is a favorite of mine, though I've never actually met one.

Here is my russian blue agouti rex rat Dave. He has turned more brown as he has gotten older. He will be two in February. As you can see, he likes to help me work.

CKWorth
December 11th, 2005, 09:40 PM
Willow Wisp, these are the first blues I've ever had but I'd say color change is not uncommon as they age. I got these from an individual pet breeder. They had a 50/50 chance of being dumbos, one of their parents was. Can't say I'm as crazy for the dumbo look.
