Hi,
It's my first post here. I'm very impressed by art I've seen here and I'm little worried about level of my skills... I'd like to start with 3 line-based characters/creatures.

Colour layer is under sketch layer. It's quick way to get final image, but I'm a little disappointed at the effect. There's no depth in that pieces. Any suggestions?

And here are my older another style concepts:

i really like the first three.. your line quality is exceptional.... your first digi paint isnt very appealing.. but, your second from the bunch IMO is the most appealing... good works.. look foward to seeing more..

Hi, nice stuff. Different methods with good results.
Really like the robot in the 5th image.
About the 6th and 7th, they are nice, but I have a problem with the forearms, I don't know if it is on purpose but they seem very long and in the 7th one the right forearm seems much longer than the left one.
Keep it up

Wow really nice! Thanks for sharing your work:P I think the first three could be easily more effective by correcting black values. In photoshop : Just create a LEVEL layer on top of everything and bring the black arrow to the beginning of the spectrum.

Welcome,

Please keep contributing to the boards. Your work is really nice, and I think you're getting close to being a really kick-ass concept artist. The advice from these forums just might be enough to take you to the next level. I've always found great, bang-on advice here...

Impressed<me<

If you would look at your "otherstyle" art, they have more depth because of a better use of contrast ( something that I try to remember when colouring ) If you would add a larger value range to the quick line colours I think it would make them "pop" better. But i'm not a pro or anything.

Looks very Seegmillerish. Nice and clean. I really like the relaxed look of the first two characters. Thanks for sharing these.

Really, Really nice stuff! the first 3 have a very strong "Hugo Pratt" feel to the ink work. Please post more.

welcome to CA. i really love the inking job on the first three characters. especially like the amount of black in the first two. did you use a brushpen for these? i think it looks fine like this but if you want more depth you could start out your painting with a basic value graduation in your background and one in your character. that could make the lightsource a bit more defined.

do post more.

Thanks for comments and advices! I'm really glad that you like my pics. Lines in first three images are vectors made in flash. I like flash because it provides sharp and strong line. Colouring in photoshop.
