NEW UPDATES AT THE BOTTOM

I just started sketching in early September and any feedback is very welcome. I really want to improve. Blurry-ness is from my digital camera.

Looking fairly alright, I'd suggest trying to draw your own eye from a mirror too.... remember drawing from Life is always better than pictures/other drawings.

these eye studies are showing that you're getting better; far better from the older anatomy studies i must say.

Pixeldragoon - will definitely integrate some life drawing. Thanks!

schowalye - I find I do much better when drawing from how to draw samples that are already shaded and blocked in. As opposed to photographs and real life.

Cup of Joe - Thanks man! I find some of his studies to be very confusing. Love your sketchbook too.

This is a quicky initial sketch for a Mad Scientist character. He is the main character for a cereal called XperimentOs. The background will be his evil labratory. He needs a lot of work but this is just the rough idea.

I love the Easter Island statues. Those things rock. So I drew them. Also trying out drawing with a pen (Pilot Precise Rolling Ball Pen-Extra Fine). I am pleased with these. :android:

Hey afgal! Keep at that Loomis stuff. Drawing from life is good too. There are a few problems with the scientist, but I just did a quick paintover (http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d109/cojcpm/afgalPO.png) because it's easier. I didn't do much because I realize your going for a cartoony style, just fixed some arm/torso problems. Also, the hand holding the vial looks backwards because of the absence of a thumb. Keep at it!

Cup of Joe - Thanks for the paint-over. LOL to the hand!
pogy366 - I can't see my improvements yet but someone in my class made a similar comment. Thanks!

Been busy but have been trying to draw too. Lately I had a little bit of a break trough. I think the rust is starting to come off and drawing is getting easier.

The assignment was to pick an artist with a distinct style and reproduce a piece of theirs in pastel. I choose Georgia O'Keefe's Cow's Skull: Red, White and Blue (http://xroads.virginia.edu/~MA02/freed/okeeffe/images/rwbskull.jpg)
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c304/AFgal/okeefe1.jpg

Trying to generate ideas for the second half of my Georgia O'Keefe assignment. To create a drawing that can be displayed with the representation. Must include same style and color pallet.

Finally I went with a bald eagle skull and blue field. This is about a third of the way done. Pastels.

Good work, but keep on learning anatomy. Get the proportions right. Use a grid if it helps.
Keep things clear in your head so that when you draw it comes exactly like you imagined it. Those last portraits definatly need more patience and dedication. :) , even if they look good.
So keep those studies up and you'll do good :)

Recursive_End: True on the paitence thing. I have led a fast paced life over the last 5 years and definitely have trouble sitting down long enough to take my time in a drawing. I'm still learning, mostly unsuccesfully, how to slow down when it comes to the drawing. This is most likely why I make the same mistakes in my sketches consistantly eventhough I try to fix them. The 13 minute sketch was supposed to be a quicky since I didn't know how long we'd have before being seated. I am working on the anatomy stuff and my Bridgeman books should be here really soon... I hope I hope. The caricature was beyond my level and now that I did I feel like I shouldn't have tried it. So I am trying not to let it be a setback and move on. Right now I can't visualize what I want to draw beforehand. Might be why my compositions lack um, composition. Thanks for the comments.
