These are base forms of a DBZ style rpg game a group of programmers and artists are working on.
The main goal was to create base forms for the starting characters. The should be similiar but unique in their own ways... so I made changes to eyebrows, eyes, hair and tatoes.
The game is starting out that you choose a element and that character transforms into a higher form of the base character, when you reach a certian level.
Don't mind the DBZ like style it was meant to be like that.
The coloring was mainly vectoring...
Process: Sketched and inked the head (bald). Scanned and added the hair, eyebrows, eyes, and tatoes seperately.
Tell me what you think, comments and crits please.

its not to bad, although you'll prob get a bashing from a million people basically saying "why are you DBZ? it sucks how unoriginal can you get ?"
but bah its your project do as you like- just be prepared for that kinda stuff heh its always good to go with your own style and idea (good habit to break into + a lot of people will respect you more)
I doubt this will get many replys just because of the nature of the content-
but anyways back to the pic, I'm not a real fan of DBZ but those are great- with the exception of the last one. (his blue hair isn't to bad but it doesn't pack an mmfpph as the others do- and his tatoo is rather dull and not as good as the others. You gota ask your self sometimes- would you want a tattoo like that? Lol
good luck with your game project dude.

Hmm, you may have trouble releasing a game with such a close concept and style as the super popular DBZ. You may want to incourage your team to move away from that as you start working on it more.
Crit: well, it's one nice concept, but could be pushed more, for example-Holy form could look more compassionate. Fire form could have a darker complection. That kinda thing.

I don't think there's enough variation in the first three forms. The hairstyles are pretty interchangeable and not all that different. I think you can push the concept further and make each form truly unique instead of merely switching out tattoos and making the spiky hair point in a different direction.

You may also want to rethink the tattoo on the holy form. Right now you've got a musical symbol as his tatoo - a bass clef... i don't see the connection with holyness...

Dah! No more Akira Toriyama, plz! We all are forced to see his style on T-shirts, TV, even Video Games! Please, do your self and all of a favor! Develope something a little more unique. I use to be in the anime style, but that was only a basis for me. Now I'm drawing more realistic things, and devolping my own art work for a game that I'm working on (well, one of them at least). Just out of curiousity, what's your RPG is about (if you think about RPGs are one of the hardest games to make ((belive me)))
Oh... and Onigami? Demon Folding?

Hehe, well onigami means Fierce God.
And the RPG is an MMORPG. You can choose from different forms and they transform as you gain more levels (no, not SSJ or something like DBZ).
And yeah, RPG games are tough.
