I currently attend Mass art ^__^
It's a decently priced school with excellent professors. (Basically all the teachers I have right now work at RISD and commute to massart..which I think is kind of amusing considering the price difference. hehe.. ^^
The first year at mass art is however you make it. It can be a grueling process or a good learning experience. I went from one to the other personally. It’s a good deal of critique and process…and most of the basics. It is a bit tedious at times, and some of the teachers in the Foundation department are a little bit nutty.
The second year has been great. I've had fantastic teachers, and helpful classes. The animation and illustration programs are very strong in particular. All the teachers encourage life drawing in order to make stylized drawing more successful, and with mid and end year reviews they have people working in the field come in to evaluate you and give you very helpful critiques.
Overall the school has a nice atmosphere to it as well. Very few people have their heads stuck up their butts. In general, people are there to learn.
