Woh, great!
Impressive style!
I love the head in the middle of the picture.
But very good shading on all of them.
Well, except from the guy in the lower right corner but instead of that hes got excellent detail. ;)

wow nice shadings:) espescially the monster guy. as for the head of the smoking guy, his hair seems like its pasted on his face.

hey.. I know that batman from somewhere.. I think I saw a small figurine of it.. could you tell me what kind of batman that is?
and do you own a scanner that can scan a3 size?, if so, could you tell me where you bought it?

Hey man I saw the name and remembered you were from NZ.
!!!! NICE WORK! Dude this is some tight stuff, so cool to see some work that has some stand out differences to alot of other pencil work.
That high detail within the alien sketch gave me Giger tingles.
Looks like you have nice technical skills and are partial to some classy as shade work.
Can you give me a rundown of your process for what looks to be meticulous smudging?.
Hey I remember you asking me to locate "Andrew Jones SP Sub forum" (I went and dug up my old thread to find your comment). I was keen to find it but kept forgetting.
Now I'm kicking myself for missing out on the work you posted then.. hope I can still check it out.
Where is Andrews forum??
Also I happen to be in Auckland at the mo, at a mates place on the shore.
Where you at?.
(Q: how old are you dude?)

hey thanks for the replys everyone,i was hoping for more crit though..:)..
Hey Lukias, nah dont worry bout b4,its cool...Heres the link to the post i did(shouldve done this in the first place now that i think about it..lol)Its all old shit, stuff i bow my head in shame with..All the digital paintings r done with a mouse by the way,i dont have a tablet..http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2593
yeah im over in auckland city every weekday, cause i work in the city..i live in mangere bridge....be good to catch up one of these dayz...an oh yeah im 23.
As for everyones question bout the shading,i usually use a blending stump thing, saves alot of time.I draw the whole drawing out in outline like that mech looking thing i came up with at the bottom right, then slowly work over it with tone usually i block out the shadows first then work it up from there...when the tones all down i work over it again with a sharp pencil mainly to draw in details.....Electric erasers are a great tool aswell, mainly for getting it back to paper for highlights...
Hammer, that batman was influenced by simon bisleys work in batman and judge dread graphic novel i remember reading a while back..with my version of him i wanted that vampire look to him.To scan it i just used the standard A4 size scanner, scanned in every corner of it then reassembled it in photoshop.nothin to it ;)..
Ill post up more soon..

thanks Tedsuo
With this WIP one i thought id tackle my fears and do a inkpen drawing, something ive never been comfortable doing, mainly cause i have a unsteady hand.lol.and because ink drawings r totally unforgiving to mistakes, something i do alot of..so far around an hour 30 mins on it..
done on A4 brown coloured card, rotring ink pen,10% grey prisma marker, black marker and white pencil...the green on his googles i did on photoshop.
Ill try an finish it but the rest of the week is full of work,

!! these last two are wicked man!.
Whats this "steady hand" comment, looks pretty damn stable to me. Hehe classic artist modesty.
No shit that last is crisp as can be.
The first has insane detail, I'm guessing you acheived your aim with that one eh?.
Sucks man, all this time I coulda done with a drawing pal, motivation more than anything, I think it helps heaps when you have someone to feed off. Just having another artist around will actually make you pick up a pencil.
I just scored some A4 coloured paper for the first time last... suddenly occurred to me that drawing on a midtone has blatant benefits.
Your drawing times a quick.. real quick. Like super man quick. imo
Keep em coming!.

thanks Zeravla have a beer  ...uh oh who let the Cat in here.."BOOOT!!!"....jk ;)
yah Lukias,i notice that too that enthusiasim picks up when drawing around other artists, ideas start to roll around alot easier...ya coloured paper is quite tricky after working with it,new to it myself..Theres alot of careless mistakes with the white pencil on this latest one...cant wait to see some of your stuff man.
Ive managed to sneak that inked drawing i started on into work(works quite slow today for some reason),and Anzac days tomorow so i might get it done tomorow sometime..

hey sweet work rusty. I love the sketches with the smooth shading. You mentioned you have a thick H pencil? You think you could scan a little picture of what that pencil looks like? I wanna try it out =).

Some more rubbish..
This one i did on crappy Microsoft paint  ..bout 15 mins.
http://www.geocities.com/rustyrulzr/MSpaint1/index.html
These next 2 i did on the 40-50 min bus ride home..face sketch took about 20 or so mins, line sketch about 20 mins....both from memory of a chick i saw today at the bus stop, her hands wrapped around a cup of coffee.she had a elfish,tom-boyish look to her, very tiny an fragile looking.
didnt really turn out looking like her,ah well...

Insanely Sweet Stuff!!!!
I love how your style comes through with the
"Naturalistic" way you draw.
I felt i could reach out and grab the little chick's ear, and
drag her around! (smoking at that age, she should be
ashamed!) jus' kiddin'!

Damn I like these. You get a softness with these yet don't leave it too light, which is often the case with said style sketches. Fully awesome man.
She be a cutie. When ever I see your work I'm inspired to attempt your style.
