I'm puzzled here... If I'm not wrong Italy hasn't produced any military transportation vehicles since the WWII except for armoured vehicles. I believe they are using foreign military vehicles.
So is the concept supposed to be based on some of their domestic armoured vehicles or some of the foreign transportation vehicles in their service?

The HUMVEE was adopted by JEEP to create the HUMMER, the HUMVEE was created in 1983, yet is still being produced in various models in 2005.

So find something the italian army used, or is still using(not very much im sure), and adapt it into a product by one of the listed Italian car companies.

Description:

The Centauro-CIV is the civilian heavy-industry redesign of the Centauro Infantry Fighting Vehicle. The original vehicle was jointly designed and produced by the Iveco, Fiat - Oto Melara production group. When redesigned for civilian applications, Fiat handled both production and redesign.

While the vehicle is somewhat unchanged in basic appearance, it is much lighter, as that all armor has been removed, and many military systems (Fire Control computer, NBC Scrubber, etc.) have been removed. The powerplant and drivetrain are largely unchanged, but minor tweaks to the engine were done for fuel economy and to meet emission standards.

The focus of the redesign was to play to the Centauro's strengths as a durable, large, powerful platform. The Centauro-CIV vehicle is setup for the easy design and fitting of a wide range of "Industry Tool" pods, ranging from simple platforms and containers for using the Centauro in shipping, to more advanced cranes, earth-shovels, and fire-fighting setups. The base vehicle also comes in varying numbers of wheels, and is avalible with rising axles for reducing rolling resistance when you don't need all 8 wheels on the ground. This versatility is what makes the Centauro-CIV so unique in the industry machinery sector.

The Centauro-CIV may not be pretty, but it is durable, powerful, and capable of anything you equip it for.

I now its not allowed to post a WIP, but i think this will inspire people.
Its a 21st century version of the Puma 4x4. It has 4WD but the engine
is in the rear ( i dont know if that is technically possible). It has 6 seats
standard, only 1 delorean-like door, the front window can open to
access the trunk and it has a spoiler. So far I am just trying to find the
right design. I have only 1 question: Does the design have to be
technically right?

UPDATE!!!
Instead of a 4x4 I am going to make a 6x6 now. Its a "bentley" amongst the SUV range. Its is a very big, luxurious and fast car which has 6 seats. It still needs some sketching before I get the best design. My next post will be the final design either in B/W or in color.

Just wondering, but this italian designed vehicle, is it also supposed to be able to drive and park on italian roads and in italian cities ? Becuase I don't believe any sensible person would drive something big as a Humvee in italy... at least not Rome...

i dont think it has to be completely practical for modern driving roads, thats up to you though.

Here's my final design. Its a 21st century version of the italian Puma 6x6. Its a very luxurious and spacious SUV car with 6 large comfortable seats. It has huge wheels and a "Delorean" door. Off course there are the 21inch Nuclear rims.

Don't make it biweekly, I guarantee that will just make it less active. Some weeks are just bound to draw more people than others. I think this one isn't getting as many because it's asking people to take something that exists and just make it different. I think a type of car was a good idea, but basing it on real things removes some of the fun and creativity. This topic has been kicking my ass, but I'll try to get something in to participate.

I have to agree with Sinix. And although new into this type of thing, I was really hoping to be more visible. And this challenge, should have been one I stepped up to ( and Im not comlpletely out of time). seems just when you get gonig something else takes your time.

But its only the second one, and with the other weekly challenges, I think peeps are gonna bounce around a little dependant on what the challenge is and where their specific idea props up.

I wouldn't go to the bi weekly thing just yet, give it some time. I was really happy to even see this challenge started, would hate to see it dissolve.

i think this topic is just harder. like.. yeah its harder I guess. For the last activity, you could basically plagarize ideas from gundam, and a bunch of other japanese mech anime if you really didn't have any ideas. There are a bunch of references for mechs
For for this hummer thing, I can't reallly think of much. I can basically think of a jeep and a hummer and toher heavy duty stuff. The only creative thing I can maybe think of is maybe taking a military vehicle thats not hummer like "boat, motorcylce, or super super big truck" and making it for civilians. But even if I do, theres that whole "enviromental friendly" thing lurking around everywhere. Cuz military stuff is heavy duty = takes up alot of fuel.

I wanted to contribute to this one but the topic was just too restrictive. You need to have topics that appeal to people and get them excited. This dosn't mean fighting robots and spaceships all the time - just something to flex the creative muscles. I for one would like to see some product/prop design topics.

Also I think its best to keep the restrictions of the design on the function rather than the appearence.

As part of a crash course to present a viable alternative to the H1 Hummer, some Lamborghini engineers got together and came up with this. Based on the chassis of an old army Fiat 4x4 utility truck, it was flipped around to become rear engined with the transmission and running gear modified. The parts bin for the Gallardo and Murcielago was then promptly raided.

The contract divied out portions of the vehicles to the different manufacturers. As usual,each tried to out do the other to set themselves apart. well if so - my vote is for Sinix - that thing looks like it would be so fun to drive.
I love the painterly treatment the most, great shape and combination of classic/futuristic elements, and interesting that you chose that angle.
I wish more of vehicle rendering was like this...has alot of life in it... most tend to be very cold
