diablo2 fan art again, giving it a thread of it's own because i'm going to show the WIP
Started with white on a dark background. I do this so i avoid getting into details.

Filled in areas, trying to remove some of the white outline.

Most filled in and white gone. Pretending i know how to draw metal reflections

Gave up with the chrome metal, improved general contrast

Final image. Saw how carried away i got with the hand and fixed it. bunch of minor changes with the coloring. Also made fun unsuck.

Hope no one hates anything too much.. been a bit wiped out from art lately. need to take a full day break and then get back into it.

lookin good man.. one of the cooler characters youve done.
looks like you put more time into this one than you normally do. its a lot sharper than most of your stuff aswell. i think its a good direction.
i like the black armor.
heres a crit if you want one. i personally think things like armor or anything with mechanics envolved will always look much cooler if they appear functional.. many art directors would share my feelings.. i like the idea of that arm armor but i PERSONALLY think it would look much more appealing if it were more functional looking. currently it doesnt look like he could bend his arm.
id take a step back and isolate the arm. spend a little time roughing out armor designs.. in the end it will pay off big.

good point, maybe i'll go back and fix some issues. it's mostly based off real armor design, i just didn't use reference.

Your painterly style had jumped leaps and bounds in the past few weeks davi! I look forward to more!

I like the image alot Davi. I think the armor looks pretty functional, maybe I'm not seeing it. It just looks like it wouldn't allow full range of motion, which is acceptable, considering how heavy duty it looks.
The only thing I don't agree with entirely, is the ring.. it just seems a little out of place on a creature like that. May I suggest bracers or something like that?

It's interesting to see how you work--starting with a neutral tone and sketching with white is something I haven't seen before.
Having the black armor makes sense, since in a dungeon, I guess you don't want armor that reflects torches.
The only suggestion I have is to think through the feet a bit more--they look like an afterthought and seem a bit incongruous to the rest of the creature.

This turned out very nice. The black armour looks good graphically,, still would've added just a little more shine/reflected light to it. I agree with blackhand that the feet/toes could use some more work. Otherwise my thumbs are up for this one. :)

I should have posted in this thread a long long time ago:
I just wanted to say I think this is your best piece (that I've seen) so far. And that means this is really good.
Keep up the good work, as they say. :)
