I generally don't listen to music other people like :P
I'm a big Delerium fan though, listen to tyboogie! My favorite song by them (or I should really say him) is 'Wisdom' at least right this second. Also check out 'Duende'.
Hmm. These are just some songs I happen to be into right now. I swing in and out of different moods and different styles, so maybe I'll post here every so often when I about-face.
Ministry - 'Every Day is Halloween'
Everyone should have this song memorized. You're a bad person if you don't!
Funker Vogt - 'Gunman'
Rocks loud with the windows down driving fast in your car. 'I've got the eyes of a hunter/ no one can escape/ I'm the devil who'll be comin for you it's too late!'
X Marks the Pedwalk - 'Missing Light' and 'Facer'
Best band name evar
:wumpscut: - 'Thorns'; 'Soylent Green'; 'Forgive Me'; 'Flucht'; and 'Wreath of Barbs'
creepy germans - the result of a baby between Skinny Puppy and Rammstein.
1000 homo dj's - 'Supernaut'
???
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult - 'Devil Bunnies' and 'Kooler than Jesus'
quite possibly cooler than jesus, you never know

When I look at my favourite song I feel even older than I´m yet ... Anyway, here are the ramblings and the music of an old man:
Jethro Tull – Living in the past, Thick as a brick, Songs from the wood, Aqualung, Broadsword, Beastie and about 200 other - and yes, I´m going to the next concert in June, dunno how often I´ve seen them in the last 19 years.
Iron Butterfly – In-a-gadda-da-vida (for your special, romantic 18 minutes)
Tom Waits – Waltzing Mathilda, Gun Street Girl, Jockey full of Bourbon etc. pp. (Nothing better to get drunk by)
Meat Loaf – Bat out of hell, Wasted Youth (The angry young man doesn´t fit me anymore but what the heck)
Hendrix – The Wind cries Mary, All along the watchtower (God bless this guitar)
Gary Moore – Over the hills and far away (Love the mixture between Rock and traditional Irish)
Police – Roxanne (Give me a cool 80´s feeling)
The Cure – Lullabye (the same)
Sisters of Mercy – This Corrosion, Temple of love (Good for sunglasses at night)
And some more folky stuff:
Neil Young – The thrasher (Giving me the pimples)
Sinead O´Connor and the Chieftains – Foggy Dew (One of the best versions I know)
Pogues – Sick bed of Chucullain (Party!)
McCalmans – Ye Jacobites my name (Good song around the campfire and before a battle)
Steeleye Span – Gaudete (Mary Prior would give a perfect elf)
... and I suppose some hundred more, from Motörhead over Björk to James Taylor.

When I lived in Denver, I'd grab some CDs and head to Boulder to drive on the twisty mountain roads. Once you get past the touristy spots you could open up the throttle, crank the tunes and hope your tires stuck to the road!
One CD that always made it into the player during a key series of twisties was Slip Stitch and Pass, Phish. My favorite tune on that live album is Mike's Song. I would put the song on at a certain point on the road, and by the time I got to the really fun/scary part the guitar solo would be playing and get my adrenaline pumping.
I've since moved back to Chicago and find myself listening to jazz and improvisational music (annoyingly called "jambands" by some). I'm infatuated with the music of Robert Walter and the 20th Congress (his live band). He's a funky keyboardist and they rock. Check 'em out.
