Pretty cool, but it's hard to tell what I'm looking at. I see his head and then a mass of red metal that doesn't really make spatial sense. The coloring job is interesting--what did you use? I can't say I'd use the technique myself, but it certainly looks interesting for a sketch.
I also feel like this is kind of a rehash of mecha concepts, without a whole lot of originality. No offense, but this basically looks to me like an amalgam of a lot of different robots designed in this style. I'm not terribly familiar with the genre--maybe I'm just not realizing that this is a drawing of one of those robots. Anyway, good job, and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

i used painter to block in the colors, more specifically the conte and acrylic brushes. once i get into the details, it won't look like so much of a mass of red metal. i hope.
and tobe honest, it's actually a rehash of one of my old drawings...i guess updated to include more current trends in mecha design.

You should "block in" your linework first, then play with color. Hoping it won't look bad is not as much of an issue if you have a plan, and follow it, rather than helter-skelter fix it as you go...
