For those of you looking for help with your portfolios, or wanting to check out art colleges all across the country in one place at one time, this is your best opportunity. At these events, representatives spend about 10 - 15 minutes with each students, going through the portfolio, answering your questions about the college and its programs. They come loaded with catalogues, too.
If you happen to be attending Chicago, Seattle, Portland, or San Diego, I (Laguna) personally hope to see you. Our VP will be in Boston and NY. We will have a rep in Philly, too.
But, but, but, by all means, find a great fit for yourself! Look at the recent art put out by the students of the different colleges (the best quality indicator for a school), and then ask about the variables, what's the school like, what's the town or area like, what are the students like (great kids can be anywhere, but the "personality" of a school can vary widely), how safe (crime, etc.) is the area, where do the students live, what do they do for fun...all of that stuff.
And have some fun!
