Looking for Critiques on this pic. Finally puting my graphire pad to use with corell. :) The picture is a basic soldier armor for a game I am working on and while ive been doing art since i was a wee little boy ive only recently started with human figures.(no training besides self training in this area) I would love advice on the anatomy at the moment and anything else i have missed at the moment. pre-empted thank you for any help ;)

I think its just too early to give any crit.
At the moment its not more than a thumbnail, work it out and post a later version.

By the way, pay attention on your proportions. the boobs are too big as well.

Is this for a female soldier? If so, the breastpads are far too low and too bulbous. They'd get in the way of aiming and when running. Female armour would be as compressive as possible... remember how Amazons used to lop off one of their breasts so as to aim their bows better?

Also, armour for the abdomen is needed... as sexy as it may be, no soldier is going to go into the field with a great big gaping open spot. There are ways to provide safe yet sexy armour coverage for the abdomen...

i would.





ahem. not much more can be said than what has already been mentioned, however i would point out that it would make it a heck of a lot easier to build the armour onto a well rendered figure. define the pose you want, dont be scared to use a smaller brush and/or vector lines. a strong base with make for a strong overall image (provided you dont stuff up in the areas following the base :P)
