Here's my sketch. I made it in about 1 hour 15 minutes with a graphire4 XL tablet and Corel Painter 9. Not very original but its kind of a test to make it within 1.5 hours, because its my first DSG image post.

One seed of evil allowed to germinate.
One black vine, living unseen.
A small shriveled fruit, ignored among it's healthy brothers, and a demon, ready for some carvings of it's own >:D
painter, 45 I reckon

Fal$eProfit Your demon sure has character, love the saggy tits :^^: good composition too. I'd like you to have pushed the contrast further, and I'd like to see where all those ambient lights are coming from. Oh, and I dig the grass :)

@ llothcat: I love yours! Nice character and nice composition!
But I'd loose the yellow border. It distracts too much. You use it in more pieces and everytime I think 'she should loose the border'. Maybe you could use another colour or something, because I think it's a loss in your images.

Really small one, but I like it :P
I didn't know jack-o-lanterns were carved pumpkins with lights in it and the dictionary only said something like 'a light/flame'. Just gave the tail a little flame :).

Wishes I don't crit those that don't crit me, but I feel this must be said. That thing on the end of the tail looks more like, erm, female anatomy, than a flame :tihi:

hehe I can see what you mean :).
And sorry, but I've got no crits for you, I just like it. Why don't you crit people that don't crit you? Kind of a weird rule/habbit in my opinion.

Wishes Critting everyone is too much work, not critting at all makes me feel a little guilty, so that's my compromise.

Thanks for the crit wishes.
I just use the border on pieces I think look the most "done", like the one above. I redo it occasionally to practice on the vector-based program I have. Yes, there are times the border distracts from the piece, too...but it looks naked to me somehow without it. Mostly, I'm just pretending to make magazine covers in this exercise, on which art directors would put all sorts of weird crap on top of the main image:D

wishes..that tail almost looks like how the vine would on a real pumkin. It opes up a lot of design possibilities...
I used to grow pumkins in the garden....they actually have thorns, tiny ones, in places. And when the main leaves die off, they kinda look like fire for a time.

Yeah I know what you mean, I already noticed you did it with the finished ones :). I would take a neutral colour like black or white or something. Or a colour that you also use in the piece itself. Other people would probably say it's less original, but maybe you should have a look at them. I'll stop whining now :P.
