The one CA is doing is only for 3rd year college students i think.

So can anyone suggest to me some great competitions, programs, etc. Im a junior too so if they also include 11th graders that would be fantastic. Also i plan on asking my teachers about it at school tomorrow. I've googled it but i can't be certain whats for real or a scam.

Its good i have a whole year to brush up on my skills, but i still want to get used to comps. and stuff.

thnx :perv:

Scholastic art and writing awards is a great scholarship program, most colleges you apply to have their own scholarship oppertunities.

most scholarships come to seniors-- just work hard on your portfolio (especially drawing from life).

The ones run by Scholastic (http://www.scholastic.com/artandwritingawards/enter.htm) are the only ones that come immediately to mind, but there are others, many regional. This is exactly the sort of thing that your teachers should (hopefully) know.

I would strongly suggest talking to he Financial Aid people of the school you plan on going to and seeing what they have to offer. They know the majority of the ins & outs of other students that are attending their school already. If you're looking for more generic scholarships that can be applied anywhere, talk to the guidance counselors at your own high school. Start there and then talk to the future university's folks.

As far as I'm concerned, if someone's handing out money for you to go to school- reach out and grab it!
