I just wanted to post something maybe most of us can relate to- ironicly I was also doing a sketch/CG in painter when my pc froze. When your having so much fun you forget about saving. I also appreciate 3D studio Max even more, for the auto back up- and constant saving files back up too.

Haha that made me laugh hard, seriously. I've been throught the painfull trial of no autosave in Maya so I can relate. But I use 3dstudiomax only now so my stress levels went down some.

Ummm, I'm pretty sure there is a mel script that will auto save for ya.

I wouldn't be surprise if there is, I haven't done the search for it though/ where to download it.

unless you mean that Maya has a mel script in it and all you have to do is activate it. which would sound rather silly - that’s like saying "would you like a tires on that new car sir?"

it would be such a wonderful/ practical option to have integrated into maya vs downloading it from who knows where. Unless I totally missed something in maya (I’m still new to maya so I wouldn’t doubt it lol

but I ask my instructor if there was such an option and he said no.

I guess from a snoby stand point you wouldn't want to put that option in.......after all, they say its "da best". :rolleyes:
