I'm 21. I am really want to go to animation school like Ringling but my parents suggested RMIT (Australia) coz it's cheaper. But I really want to go to US as 3D Animation is excellent and prefessional. Are there any school provides scholarship for international student besides SCAD coz im going to apply~~
Please, anyone helps. Are there any school which is good in animation and not that pricey?

If you equate learning to being around teachers that are in the animation industry?

Some of those teachers teach at CalArts too.

A lot of the students don't draw better then me though. I know that sounds arrogant, but it's true.....it's a community college, so it's possible.

I'd go there to learn animation, but go to an Atelier to learn to draw the figure. They'll challenge you to learn 'how' to draw.

Thank you for reply^o^ This is my first post~~
Anyway, im a Diploma holder of 3D Animation in KL, Malaysia, im looking into degree of computer animation or character animation.
A lot of school like Ringling, RISD, VFS, CalArts, SVA etc. are good but it's extremely expensive and it'll be a hell debt!! Im searching schools in UK as well but mostly scholarships are only for UK/EU student. i just couldn't go without scholarship. Working in studio like Dreamworks is my dream and im gonna make it!!

That school I referred to you enroll in through Santa Monica Community College.

If you read through that faculty you'll realize there's some networking going on, people knowing people........it's a bit more then what is perceived initially. They are people that know each other and have inside information about the industry.

Most other community colleges just hire people off the street, and they usually don't have the experience.

I'm just emphasizing how rare this is in a state supported school.

Here's some other places I've been looking at in the Los Angeles area as well.

Art Center graduates teach there
