Okay, most of you have seen my Mood1 piece. But, you see, that piece was never really finished--I had planned more for it, but somehow dropped the idea. Now, I'm going back to rework the original idea back in. BUT, I don't know if I should just leave it as it is.
So, here's a rough draft of the new idea--it's totally UNFINISHED, and very rough. Just sketched in to get the overall feel.
Let me know if I should just leave it like it was, or keep going with this new idea.

Well I *adore* the original pic and not too sure you should bring that girl in the realm of fantasy.. Sorry..being a bit biaised as I'm getting tired of that genre..
<selfish>I'm sure you'd make that carved wall a beauty tho :)</selfish>

I like the new idea, but I like the original as well. I would consider working further on both. Good luck. They both are looking great.

Hey I accidently clicked on the bottom vote option lol :ep:, just so you know man. I like your original more; I like it's simplicity. The new one new is cool too, but the ruins on the wall and her face just make my eyes roll over the place too much.

I like the hair and the reflection on the wall in the original. What's going on with the hand though, i keep looking at it... Maybe the index finger? It has a fold where the second finger comes in, and now it looks as if the second finger is more to the front. Hmmm.. But then again maybe it's just my eye...
But they are both great.

I was in love with that original image. I had found it on
http://www.gfxartist.com. I was facinated with the image. I kept putting other backgrounds on my system but kept coming back to the blond. Really nice image.
Your new painting explains the awkward space to the left... Now it makes sense.
I ended up cropping the original...I still like it. However, since I am at work, I have gotten some raised eyebrows from women. For me, it's not so much about the female as the art.
Very well done!
By the way, the tatoos on the face were too much for me also. Not to say that they shouldn't be there. For me, they just seemed to be too strong a statement for the softness of the female.
Don't change the hand though!!! It gives a "human" touch to her. To me it says, "with all this gracefull beauty, there is an inner storm."
Also, could you post a larger image of the updated image? If she has wings, perhaps I wouldn't get the raised eyebrows...
Thanks

Hi Lunatique,
I personally like the old one better in its simplicity. With the wings and the sword on the back (as a swordfighter myself I really can´t see this anymore) you´re going cliché and standard again. I´ve just seen this generic Fantasy-stuff too much in the last time. The new background leads away from the main figure, and every emotional value I´ve seen in the old one is imho trodden down.
Otherwise I really like your work even if it isn´t a style I normally appreciate. There´s a lot craft in it.
Hope my 2,5 Euro-Cent could help

Excellent feedback everyone!
Well, looks like I'll hold off on the new idea. I knew the whole fantasy stuff is a bit played out these days, but I didn't really know how people who actually are into sci-fi/fantasy in general felt. The whole sword/wing thing sure wasn't clichéd when I was younger... How times have changed! I blame it on Brom and the others working in that "dark" style! :D
