And I need help. I am creating game concept art for my masters degree and I was wondering if anyone knows a good resource for research to legitamize concept artwork as something that is essential, evolving, and potentially standalone. The research is the hardest part of what I'm doing, especially at a large engineering school that has a fledgeling art program and hardly any good graphics industry reference materials. Anyone know a good book or journal I could get info from?

U need information about concept art ?

How about this site ... there are lots of tutuorials on here & Id guess that there should be concept art info here as well ...

If U need to persuade people of the existance of concept art .. hey this site is a clear indicator that it xists ... with really good artists taking part in it all ...

BTW welcome to CA slugmuffin :)

I don't know of any "History of..." type books. The only thing I can suggest is the concept art books that are published for games or movies. :/
