[ Before going to see the film "Serenity", I wanted to watch the t.v. series that it's based on (Firefly)... ]
[ Been watching it on dvd... very good show, once you accept the silly premise of space cowboys. ]
[ Hmm? Oh, right... So, the reason i mention all that is because there's this kickass scene where a big "Reaver" vessel is chasing after our people's smaller ship just above the planet surface. ]
[ If you've seen this episode (#1, i think... the unaired 2 hr. pilot episode), then you know what i'm talking about. ]
[ If you haven't, then rent it. It's a very fun series. ]
[ Umm... ]
[ Anyways, this was the inspiration for the topic... not the instruction. ]
[ Do your own thing when you tackle: ]

1Lt. William Steele, "Peregrine" thought everything went pretty smoothly in infiltrating the Bornian military base, retriving the documents and stealing the ornithopter. Unfortunetly, The Bornian have done their homework and knew of him since the begining, and had a Duj-2c "Saltshaker" interceptor ready for him as soon as he took off.
painter, 10 min post-crash quickie, which came out quite well I think ;)

My first DSG, I have been meening to post here for ages, but you know how life can be. Its a 'bit' plain but the perspective was giving me a head ache. I will try to add some colours.

jungle - I bought tablet 2 days ago and have just started painting in Painter.
I'm in similar situation as you and have got all this things to learn.
To learn this stuff I'll be making fast exercises, drawings each day and will use each day different brushes and effects to check up each of them.
I think that after a period of time you and I( as well) will know the effect of each brush and have ideas how to use them :D
The firsts drawings will be probably not cool, but it doesn't matter they will be just exercises ;)
dindon - I'm short of a couple details and linework in your pictures.
(when I draw I mostly give linework and details at the end of work and not at all surface of drawing).
furthermore, the rocks are as soft as smoke. The spaceship is soft too.
homeworld - I have seen your 2 pictures in DSG and like both :)

Hideyoshi: Amazing, the details are so fine yet so clear. I wish I knew more PS.
Homeworld: Great texture, what program are you using? I ask because I see a lot of people using painter. I have PS 6 at the moment but have been thinking of upgrading for a while. So im wondering whether PS cs or painter is better for colouring line work.
N-Mel: I love the ship designs, the big one remind me of the drop ship from aliens 2, cool smoke effects as well.

Nothing to be very proud of, I just needed to get this concept out of my head, and fast.

Yeah, I've been avoiding color so far, so i tried to focus on that this time. I didn't really feel like cleaning it up :D

A burgundy outline of a ship, symbiotic to its once in control crew, it hungers for the next time it is found alone, as a derelict, it hungers for more blood.
