Just finished this.
It's based on a sketch by J.Scott Campbell (Danger Girl):

He looks great Dan! I like the smile/teeth...
Now go back to work and do Aughra... because we all need Dark Crystal figures :teeth:
You'll be quite surprised how many people would buy DC stuff!

I would have thought you'd be planning an Aughra, Lazlo. Your Hoggle looks great, btw...

Dan,
This looks great. I've always liked the detailing on your work (like Wolverine's shirt -- dang!), like this guy's horn texturing. Very nice!
I've been checking your site for a couple of years now, and I'm always eager to see what you'll come up with next.
Btw -- Your site is a great resource for anyone looking for a start in sculpting or mold-making. Really nice work putting that information together. I've learned a thing or ten from there myself. THANKS!
Take care,
Will

No, I'm not doing Aughra, just too little time at the moment. Anyway 1,2 or 10 Aughras... everyone is welcome! :^^:

Great work man! I'd also like to see some more figures based on Brian Froud's artwork. The whole faerie/goblin/gnome - theme is a great inspiration to do modells and maquettes.
Go on man, cool work!

Laz, that is a problem I have been intimately familiar with lately. I could have completed the Hellboy much, much sooner had I not had real life (two jobs to make ends meet plus the hurricane, plus visits to doctor, vet, etc.
Fortunately I have a regular block of time (2-4 hours) where I can sculpt without too much distraction each week. Not nearly enough, though. I'm going to try and wedge some more sculpting time into my schedule.

Dan,
I'm right there with ya on the making ends meet stuff! Holy moly is it friggen hard right now or what. I know, let's have another major friggen disaster in the U.S. or one of the oil rich countries to further exaserbate the issue! (sorry just a bit sarcastic this morning....).
Anyhow, I hope things get better for you. I say my prayers for you and the other TX folks I know were impacted by hurricane. Hang in there and remember, Sculpting can be very theraputic...especially if you've joined the Shifflet Brothers "smashing our work" therapy sessions. :$
Take care -- Thanks again for all the tips, tricks, and tuts. And oh, why the heck are you reading this when you could be sculpting???? :}

Thanks, Ceramicus. The only real impact the hurricane had on me was time and money (no damage to my house or possessions, but I did spend a week trying to get ready and spent money on supplies that I ended up not needing).
My parents' house came through unscathed and they were in the worst part of the storm (Beaumont/Port Arthur area), so that was a bit of luck. Some houses in their neighborhood were cut in half by fallen trees.
Anyway, that's past, and I am going to do some sculpting/painting later today, by hook or crook.
