I have decided after long thought to post my own sketchbook, as you all may have noticed I am in need of a yoda training. Yes, i do... :\
Anyhow I'm going to start off with oldies. Ya they are kinda old, some i drew 4 yrs ago but they were the most memorable ones that i felt inclined to share. Enough talk! :blahblah:

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Furiea/Eiji01.jpg

This one is from a series by : Masashi Asaki. I took random pics, that caught my attention (my desire to draw) from different volumes and assembled them. I also wrote a poem that depicted the situation in volumes.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Furiea/Eiji02.jpg

Same series, same concept

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Furiea/BlackCat.jpg

Now, this one is from Black Cat a manga series ( again  )
by Kentaro Yabuki

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Furiea/Olddrawingscopy.jpg

These are several drawings i put together to save space
anyhow, the one holding the stone is from hikaru no go
( my all time fav series :D although I HATE the ending)
Then there's Kyo from Samurai Deeper kyo and Riku (?) not really sure from Kingdom Hearts

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Furiea/forthosewhohavefallen.jpg

Now, this one is legit i did not take any ideas from ANYONE mine all mine
( considering the fact i do reproductions) BUt i did use a model/ inspiration from a drawing by yuki Kaori. I did it for my friend ( his website )

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Furiea/Thegirl.jpg

I had a real pic for this one but i made it mangaish which I regret.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Furiea/Sugisaki.jpg

the real drawing is by the author of DN angel, Yukiri Sugisaki

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Furiea/Many.jpg

All of them are real ppl except the one crying that I did myself ( no model hurray!)

I think that's enought for today

You have quite confident line but try not to use too much blending with finger. I wonder what will be new sketches like. These last faces are fantastic.

Thanx Farvus for your advice I'll try to avoid smudging ( but i don't use my fingers )

Anyhow, I drew this pic during summer... I never finished it because I realized the eyes were too far appart which meant i'd have to redo not only the eye but the hair which were a real pain.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Furiea/SkyHigh.jpg

It's an actress from a japanese movie called Sky High, there's actually a manga titled that way too. They both have the same concept but the story is slightly different.

First off will be the last oldies, aren't really old yet not new either...

Anyhow, most of these I had a reference ( model)

And now, for my muscle training. all critics welcomed! ( only way I'll ever improve)

Though I'm not a very big fan of manga, I like kinda like what you've done here. Will keep following your thread.

I'd be interested in seeing some of your non-manga work. You seem to have a good eye, but manga can sometimes act as a crutch for those who want to feel like artists. I'm not saying that you're doing that--I'm just saying that it would be nice to see some other stuff of yours.

Those are practice
Now, on to the real treat

I played around with the brightness ( it actually looks more realistic but I liked it better this way... )

So did I get it right.... the very last girl from your first post Is a real world person?
Beautiful.

Would you mind giving me her number? :)

I guess, it would help the others if you would be a bit more precise on what you want to achieve. Do you want to draw more realistic or get more into your manga-style, get advice on anatomy...?

Did you use a ref on the last one? Beautiful as well...
- Try to get the contrast right with your pencils. I always feel like cheating, when I adjust my scans (paid work is an exception of course). :)

hey fallen, thanks for stopping by my book.
your characters are fantastic, anime isn't really my bag, but you execute it quite well. nice studies too. just maybe size down yours pics a little. keep drawing man, your skill is growing. cheers.

Great lips and eyes; the recent large portraits are outstanding. It'd be interesting to see if you could get that same kind of lip/eye quality on smaller drawings. That can be pretty difficult though.

youve proven that you can break out of manga stylisation and draw realistically, but so far ive seen only faces, itd be nice to see a few torsos too,

I feel as if an eternity as passed... I didn't have much time to draw :^^;:

johnny78: Thanks for checking out my sketchbook, anyhow the last one is real yes, but sadly beyond any of our reach...I got her out of an ad for NOA-frangrance. I didn't exactly cheat for that one, I just took out half of the shadow by brightening the picture ( I'm still not used to drawing real/people, so it's really weird for me)
It actually looks like this,
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Furiea/Noa02-smaller.jpg

( What do you guys think...Which one is better looking??? )

As for my objective, I want to learn all the rules, so that... I CAN BREAK them!
Therefore, I'm practicing anatomy and a more realistic approach in order to not only improve but to mix the two creating my own style!! :confident

Jtoons: Thanks for dropping by and returning the favor :teeth: ! Sorry for the size, I finally managed to figure out how to make them smaller

max1975: Thx, working on the smaller pics, hope you'll like them !

dire-musaera:I have worked on a few torsos, but I have yet to post any of them cause I think I need more practice...

Anyhow, for the only new pic ( can't be helped: no time= less drawings ) :(

I agree with you on learning anatomy rules so you can break them ;) I work the same. Drawing is expression through symbols. You need to establish a common ground with your viewer by being observant if not completely compliant with the laws of physics and anatomy. A touch of reality is good but photorealism is no fun.

Hey finally new post :teeth: !!

That fat kid: Thx, I'll be careful with the eyes next time
Cyberotter : Thanks for coming by! BY the way, I completly agree with you

NOw the first one, I did without a reference pic ( not that great)

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Furiea/He-smaller.jpg

For the second one I had a reference pic. The lips were fun to draw.... :D
but i made a little mistake I only realized after scanning it ( the right side is a little too puffy oh well )

wicked rendering, i realy like the latest post and the portrait before the skelton, you've pulled yourself out of that anime indebted style realy well. your styles neat, you should have a go at some more expressive rendering, maybe even a difficult pose to go with it, im intersted in what a drawing like that would look like with your style

Personally i do not like very much the manga style (i'm not refering yours; in general) but your last pictures show that you have potential and i think that you know how to use your pencils. So, keep it up.
Fine.
