Mine should arrive sometime this week and I feel like an impatient kid :D

Anyhoo... I'm sure many of you are the same way where you go to Barnes and Knobles, Borders, ect. and see the same old books. We all have our Sargent, Mucha and Rockwell books, but what I want to know is why is Brom (no offense) the only contemporary artist out their for the most part with books out. I know here and there you may be able to find others, but for the most part there is nothing out there. Thats why I'm so excited Jon took the effort to get a book out there. Now if we could only get it in the stores. Sargent, Mucha and Rockwell are all grand and fine...But for the love of god I sure wish there was a current Leyendecker book, a Dean Cornwell you could buy at a store...and Boy wouldn't it be great to buy a Syd Mead book at a store. How many good Bouguereau books can you find? My point is that there is an armada of books that Will rot on the shelf! and there are also an armada of books that are either not on the shelf or not in existence that would actually be bought. COME ON how many MUNCH, MANET(not Monet) WARHOL AND DALI books does the world need?!

i know where you are coming from.

nothing (basically) against dali(...) books as long as they are well done. but how many aquarel for beginners books do we need?
aren't all the housewifes who feel the urge to let their artistic nature fly free basically the same and could by all the same book? ;)

nah seriously...
there are way too much overlooked people today and even IF they produce books (as jon did, i don't know about the status on jean-pierre targete's one) they end not bought because no one knows them and no one dares putting them on bookstore shelves.
i guess what we can do is spread the word.

The books great! Lots of full page images and sketches. It's well worth the $29.95 + bucks. The only problem with it is now we have to wait another few years before another one comes out!

Yeah Jon's book is awesome! We can help by spreading the word to all the comic book stores...go up and ask them if they have the book and tell them it's an awesome book and that they should order it. Spread the word that way. Everyone who has the book go on amazon.com and give it a good review.

joshua and mcm, you both need to get paid an advertisement fee you have been so proactive in getting my book noticed. thanks you so very much!

i agree about the state of art books in stores. invariably i go in thinking i will find some new secret joy but am always disappointed to find the same old thing.

i think it boils down to who buys the books for their coffee tables. while we are passionate and willing to spend money, i fear we are in the minority and thus have the voice of a dust speck.

thank goodness for bud plant! he has all the coolest books to find. but we need more publishers or the some ones to print more of the Leyendecker and dean cornwells etc.
