comming along nicely aga, now take it one step further and draw a whole indoor city of those labs in the background :)
nice work too dori, feels to me like it needs a spot of colour somewhere or slightly more defined figure/s.

I'm just a traditional artist that got a wacom finally. I'm trying to do everything with the pen on purpose, and man it's been humbling.

Very much a quickie rush job today as I've got the rotten flu and it does me no good sitting on a computer. I'm going back to my book.

Coming in their massive space saucers, and invading all the big cities, they can only be defeated when alone. The humans must find a way to stop them before all life on Earth is exterminated!

I broke the rules a bit. He's not in the tank. I do find interesting that many people draw aliens with the stereotypical large eyes (classic alien). Of course stereotypes are able to convey an idea much better.
Anyway.
I'm sick, so pardon the lack of effort/time (although i think i've been doin it for about 1.5hrs) Also, i need to get cleaned for the Mike Doughty show.

I think that most people will look at this and know I'm a beginner at this kind of stuff, and I appreciate and encourage any critiques of my submissions, I will do the same for anyone who asks. I think that the DSG needs a bit more in the way of critiques. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this, but just in case you do want my (or anyone else's) opinion your DSG piece, please ask!

spent a little while longer one this, i really struggle with environments/backgrounds.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v63/karma_police/dsg898.jpg
Hideyoshi awesome stuff man. though the glass covering seems kinda skewed/awkward, letting down the whole picture... for me anyway.
Pechu i love how you've managed the colours in this one. nice composition too.
Amerasu you really nailed the glass effect on this one, well done.
goran orgasmic as usual. though i wouldnt guess he was in a tank without knowing the topic first. the concept for the alien rocks.
demdike i like the colours, they really compliment the kind of alien you've chosen.
adamharris sweet concept, would work nicely has a background object in a fps or something.
dindon the stuff in the background confuses me a bit, they look kinda like a repeditive rock formation (because of the lack of colour). i would probably go for a big symetrical warehouse in the background, to help emphasize the feeling of 'bigness' that you already have going with the foreground tank (from the perspective). solid concept though, keep it up.
rudym17 welcome :) not bad for a 20min effort, maybe try playing around with drawing in blocks of colour rather than in just lines though. hope to see more from you.

Karma police - I have some problems with enviroments too, and it's the reason that my picture is without it
although you are right and it would be look better with backround ;).
I always focus on characters and haven't got experience with enviroments :bashful: but have just started to exercise it.
on yours - you draw aliens in naturally way with a nice , goodlooking shape but, as you told about, in your background can be seen some difficulties, especially I don't like the floor and the wall in the back.
Zeit wolf and Amerasu - thank you :D
dindon - I totally agree
the constructive crit about both advantages and disadvantages could be useful.
on the other hand it's not always easy to give a good, helpfull crit.
I have such situation today and haven't got idea what to tell about yours but I'll be watching your further works and if I had some advices I would surely write you about it :D

karma police: Thanks for the crit. My intent was to make the tank situated at the bottom of a cliff, like a relic tucked away somewhere. I didn't really know how to create a "rocky" texture, but hopefully it reads clearly enough.
Aga: I'll keep an eye out for you work too :)

I will definitely work on that for my next project. Thanks for taking the time to critique.
