Hello, new to the forum, but think its great.

I notice that many of the images I see are computer painted and was wondering what a good tablet for a good price is. I have been using an Aiptek USB tablet and it just craped out on me so Im in the market.

It (the Aiptek) was kind of laggy at times and crosshatching was impossible unless I did it really slow whitch kind of defeats the purpose. I dont know if this is due to the program (photoshop) or the computer (crappy) I was using.

What do you guys use ( tablets / programs) ? How much did you pay? Stuff like that, maybee examples of your work? Thanks glad to be a part of this forum.

Basically everyone uses a wacom tablet. They make great tablets over a wide range of prices. $70 - $700+ Even the cheapest ones are highly usable and effective, so, it just comes down to how serious you are and how much money you have to spend, or whatever is convenient and comfertable. I have a wacom intuos2 6x8 (almost 3 years old, forget how much it cost), and have been completely satisfied with it, haven't yet felt a need to use something bigger.

Most common programs people here use:
PhotoshopCS (Alot of my favorite digital painters use this)
Painter9 (I use this)
OpenCanvas (you can find old versions of this for free, it's very easy to use and straightforward)
