Very nice. But I think it needs more of a BG to give it better scale and depth. Also, are those appendages like spider arms? If so....they're not touching anything....or maybe it can fly without wings?

Nice to see it progress, I really like it ! Now, it's just a question of taste, but I prefer the one in purple tones. It's warmer. But as I said it's just a question of taste. Good stuff, here !
See ya !

I agree with Alday.J ... the purple one ... but maybe im reminded of the Flintstones pet dinesaur ... not sure ... maybe some more detail in the skin .. to make it more real looking ... ive never seen a living dino .. but U know what I mean ;)

My C+C

P.S.: maybe the blue one .. but then vary the colour IMO bit more .. looks too blue alltogether IMO (sorry I love "IMO")

I like the way this piece is developing, but the stress fractures and cracks in the foremost front "leg" are too pronounced. With that level of damage, weight put on that leg would most likely result in total breakage...

Very nicely done. The colors are better on the last one. The perspective is great, really brings the viewer into the picture. And those cracks look cool.

The little guy is from a drawing that I did 2 weeks ago. Thought that the 2 creature would look interesting together, so I put them together.

Thanx............. My taste is on the blue cuz it looks dreamy/fantasy. I love dreams n fantasy. I'll see what I can do about adding more details on the "spidersaurus". peace out

I agreed with you about the crack. Yeah, in reality, the crack would break, but this drawing is not anywhere near reality. Well, I guess I dont really care to make this a reasonable realism feel. I wonder how come u didnt mention anything about the the "off" looking spike right on top of the middle of the creature's body and the one right next to it. Now that I pay attention to it, I see it looks kinda awkward..... well anyways, peace out.

Gilead
Thanx mang, U r with me on the color choice. hehehe.

If you are talking about the backwards facing spike, it is as directionally off as the two spikes further down the back. But those are only after looking closer at the work. I can't visually get past that fragile front leg without an effort.

And if you are not interested in making this have a "reasonable realism feel" (a lame excuse, by the way, as no one would EVER consider this "realistic," yet you mention that the spikes on the top look "off...") then why ask for comments? You can use that excuse for the entire piece...That fractured front leg should, by even the slightest bit of imagination, not be able to support any weight due to the large fracture crack running across it.

You can't have it both ways. This isn't just a "show and tell" forum, and to fall back on the "well, I don't want it to have a realism feel," is tantamount to just saying "asspats only, please..."

i think that you should finish the fg leg and add it into the picture, that might just be my personal opinion , but other than that i really like the addition of that character for scale, although it would be cool if you put the person in some sort of action pose you know like think, who is this character? is the dragon his pet, is he afraid of the dragon? constantly try to create a story with your work. it looks awesome though and good job!

About the spike, I wasnt talking about the spike itself. More of so is how the spike attache to the body of the creature. I guess it's easier to show it to show. It looks kinda wierd, maybe it's out of proportion or perspective.

"yet you mention that the spikes on the top look "off...") then why ask for comments?"
I ask for comments bc:
I wanna know what people thinks.,
some people see mistakes, "off", better than I can.
some people suggestion can really benefit my art
I want to improves
etc etc
and it's up to me if I wanna take it or not. U know, I may not agree with people, and people may not agreed to me. It's opinion. If I offended U, I didnt mean to. Sound like U bitting at me.

lincolnhughes
"Do something to the character to show a lil story" build a lil story = good suggestion, I'll keep that in mind. . Thanx for the comments ;)

Not biting, Damdischink, as much as calling to your attention that although you agree that it is up to the artist whether to accept/decline the comments and suggestions offered, it seems somewhat duplicitous to make a public denial of an obvious visual discrepancy with the comment of "this drawing is not anywhere near reality," to excuse the bad visual physics regarding the weight bearing capabilities of such a severely cracked and fractured leg, yet be so concerned with the poor perspective rendering of the spines on the back...One of those "you can't have it both ways" situations...

It's based on post count, it has no real meaning, just one of our esoteric amusements...

ROFL...That was hilarious Madster...His attitude deserved it though...I don't think there are as many people on these forums who have as firm a grasp of the English vernacular in comparison to you coupled with the aformentioned attitude hence necessitating a long and winded, if not funny and informative medium of delivering information...Looking forward to more...
