did this for an assignment.. which is simply illustrate freedom any way you want... this is freedom from technology and being a number in someone's database that tracks you like some kind of merchandise. wanted to post for critique.... painter and photoshop used.

Nice mood, bfaubion! I like this!
crit:
- The fingers seem too thin
- You should change the bg's color, since it's the same like the human's flesh...maybe something darker...
suggestion:
- A little less conversation more action please -> more violence in the lower part (bad english, but i mean there should be more tension, a harder contrast between the two worlds - human-technologie)
- I like this glowing wires a lot...one of them could enchain the body of the human...maybe some sparks too...

looks more like hes in pain than hes beeing freed--theres nothing to communicate that hes actually breaking away from it--if some wires were snapping off him--and he was breaking those metal arms with his hands--i think that direction would convey freedom more---ty

This reminds me alot of a piece done by James Zhang in the front page gallery of conceptart. I'm with ty, it looks like he's being sucked in than breaking out.

thanks for the replies all.... tyboogie , i originally did a thumbnail like that, with him breakin some wires, i think i might add a few like that with sparks like fuzzybar mentioned. i'll try some of this stuff out.
the piece is more about how i feel in regards to the branding and numbers, and how i want to escape like this guy... which he is trying to do but being grabbed as he is trying to free himself, .. i think thats probably a better explanation than i mentioned before.
