T-DOME: The Last Man Standing - Round Three

144 started, 36 remain. There were some fantastic battles last round with a few huge underdog victories, but now is the time to really kick up your game ladies and gentlemen. You will all be given an extra week to complete your pieces so I expect no one to not show up for the big dance at the deadline. There were too many no shows... you signed up for this, you want it the win, and it's too late to puss out. Anyway, I'm sure you know the drill by now, but I'll repeat the dome setup just to piss you off. :)

We're going to have ourselves a bracketed tournament. Each round will consist of 1 on 1 battles, and the winners of each respective battle will go on to the next round. Eventually we will whittle our way down to the prize fight: a one on one battle between the winner of each bracket division. Winner of that match is the Last Man Standing... the one contender who took down the masses.

Who's it gonna be then?

The matches for each round except the last will be RANDOMLY CHOSEN from the pool of 144 competitors. In the last two rounds, the battles will be between 3 men, not 2. The name of the previous rounds are linked up to it's corresponding thread...

Topic:
Industry
Industry has a wide range of possibilities for the conceptual designer in us, but keep in mind that for this round you are going to incorporate your designs into a finished illustration. You could focus on a physical structure and design of the industrial complex and the elements inside (vehicles, workers, robots, friggin anything really), tell a more intimate story with narrative focusing on a specific worker, task, product... it's very open to interpretation.

Your job here is to make the most impressive image with the bitchinest conceptual design you can think of. Environment, character and clothing design, vehicles, robotics... you can take this topic any way you wish.

Deadline:
You have around four weeks to complete your masterpieces. The official deadline stands at 11:59pm PST Sunday, November 13th, 2005.

Submissions:
My bandwidth will commit suicide if I hosted the massive amounts of images expected, so I'll have to ask that you upload your image to your own space and send me the link to your image. You can submit your entries in link form to strych9ine@gmail.com in the yournameVScompetitor'sname_TD.jpg format, with the title of your email yourname's entry. Size: Keep your images large enough so that the detail is preserved, but do your best to keep the file size down (Photoshop's Save for Web function can help quite a bit).

Keep your secret weapon secret: do not post up you WIPs or Finished Pieces before the main T-DOME threads are displayed. The best part about this is seeing all the artwork for the first time side by side, don't rob us of that chance.

Thanks for that week! I have been without power since monday (one week). Hurricane Wilma pretty much detroyed my fence, yard and all of the trees but I am grateful to still be around... and still have a house. Gotta rebuild the roof but I'm happy to still have one.
