Ok after seeing the Feng/CaptFlashgarden environments I realized I don't do enough environment stuff. My material is entirely too character driven. So I am going to be posting some environmets studies to try and get some feedback on em and work with this stuff a little. So go ahead and critique.
here's one.

Impressive as always - especially for having little environment experience (or so you say ;)). I am certainly not one to be trusted on this matter, but it looks to me like the main structures perspective is off. It looks like it's leaning way too far back to me. Looking at it right now, I think its mainly that the base curves too sharply on the right side - I think at this angle you wouldn't see it curve back on itself just yet. Anyways, good job overall and good luck in trying to broaden your skill set.

really neat cotie!
loved the rock effects...
but there is a perspedtive issue there...(i think)
the bridge comes towards us..but it's still in the same shape...
i mean, it gotto get bigger if it comes towards us...yea the camera looks from up but we are still a bit infront of the bridge...i don't know if you understand me :)...anyway...otherway it look sooooo cool :)

MCM> Thanks!
Kay> yes it is.
I should have put some more info in there to fix that.
Davi> thanks man.
Nimrod> good eye. that curve really is out there. I didn't use any tools for the perspective it's all freehand, so I was trippin if I thought I wasn't going to have any flaws in the perspective. thanks.
Severith> ha ha. Thanks but I don't think so.
Atmospheria> thanks.
I appreciate the critiques!
Here's another one I just did. Less perspectively challenging and more organic.
Again, chop away!!

Man I was just about to go to bed...I'm glad I caught this...awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome...mitch you tha man. The only thing I would say is that a little more rendering needs to be done to the outside rock walls beyond the bridge. Awesome work man.

Whoa didn't see this thread the first time around!
I prefer the first one of the 2. The water and the reflections are really cool!
on the secend on it feels like the skull is tilting a bit to the left, like it is about to fall, and there is no chance in hell that I'll walk into a building that is unstable!

very awesome stuff on the first one dude, although I think having a few statues on the side or maybe a flag would be a cool touch.

looking good!!,
for the first one i would put more effect in the light, colour and shadow, try to stimulate the mood you are giving (time of day). If the direct light (main light) is coming from the left then the shadow of the bridge should be more to the right side as with the boat shadow.
the second one ....hmm..dont know cause i really like it!!. its got a very industrial type feel about it. The colour and atmosphere is very nice. Maybe some stronger cool shadows for the flames to give it more effect. i like the way you made the viewer concentrate on the center being the most important by adding more detail to it.

good start on your environments,
my crit is that they both seem a little empty, there needs to be more things going on and more detaild. if your going to be making an environment for a game , imagine yourself inside of the space instead of looking down at it . make it feel like its a place you want to explore, try to make it feel like an amusement park, the kind of place you could spend hours, the more little details you add the more alive it will feel. just a sugestion, you are on the right track, I want to see you go farther with these drawings.
good luck

Mcotie great stuff mate...is there any possibility of you doing a quick tute on the perspective you used on the first pic? ie how did conceptualise it and then develop it?
Awesome!

Thanks 'Droid. that's the kind of crits I'm lookin for. I appreciate it. I'll give these things a shot.
Manta_Ray> I don't really have any tuorials for this one. Like I said earlier I just started it with a sketch kinda wingin it on the perspective. Which is really not the correct way, hence I would not have had the conflicts that were brought to my attention earlier. But I'll scan in some of the sketches for both and post those.
thanks ya'll.

These are great but I agree with Andrew. Detail really sells environments. Work on that and you'll be golden baby! You're 85-90% there. :)
