heres a sketch i made today. Its the first time i decided to really sit down and finish a sketch of something. if u have any suggestions on what to improve next time please let me know. Looking for all the help i can get, thanks.

It's finished? (that's what I infer from your statement)
Setting aside the fact that it seems not quite half done (time-wise), I'd say my biggest issue is the shape of the jaw. There seems to be a lot of chin, more than the daily recommended dosage (mostly in width, but distance from the mouth, too). The ears seem too high for the head position and could be a tad small.
It really seems like you didn't start with large enough brushes. The planes aren't well-defined and the values aren't defining the shapes very well.
It's not bad, certainly, but could use a little more care.

thanks jabberwookie, thats some good info there.
i want to do one of these every 2 days or maybe every night, so we'll see how i improve.

you could still work into it a bit more add some shadows, an give him eyes its the window to the soul
