GREAT!
I love the detail on the spider webs...this single twines wafting in the air...maybe the lightning bolt could be just a little bit brighter...

Thanks for all the positive feedback on this image. This image was created in Photoshop.
Ahh yes....the lightening...When I was finishing the drawing up I did play around with making it brighter but, it became too much the focal point so I pushed it back some.
I'll post the color version soon!

I don't know what's more scary.. the cobwebs or the freaky tornado that's about to apear from that tormented sky !
I know you didn't ask for a critic and no-one gave you one, but I'll just point out a few little things that caught my eye..
I like the fact that the house isn't a fliped mirrored side of the other.. We see there are subtle differences.. but not enough. Especially when it comes to the eerie flames and smoke. There is much chaos in burning and swirling patters and no two are alike.
The 2 cobwebs in the foreground are beleivable but there's something strange about them.. The one on the left reminds me of a cloth that'd been blown by the wind and caught on something. You can feel the thickness of it especially on the top left of the drawing (where the gunk strands wrap around the stone).
The cobweb on the right is nice too but there's something.. Perspective maybe ? Also remember spider juice sticks to everything ;) I was suprise to see errand strands float in the wind and not catching anything as if they were hair strands.
The pavement looks really nice even tho a little stretched - mind you, I couldn't achieve such a nice finish without photo-retouch / ref ! :D

wow...really interesting critique....very informative and detailed. The concept drawing is for a realtime game level design and by nature when I was designing it I had to think of things as tileable and repeatable because of memory issues. I completely agree with you about the smoke and fire issues..in the color version I have worked them out a bit more...making them more interesting and flowing. The smoke well...thats just laziness...I have no excuse....I'll try and give them more flare though.
Thanks again for the comments

hey phil, LOVE IT!
I would like to see a less ambient light source, but im a sucker for direct light. Darker foreground objects, more unified areas of value, but i see what you are goin for, and i love it!
why didnt you put any texture on the roof?
Good stuff, love your textures, like the tombstones, neat :) Nice spooky feeling!
its AWWWWWWWEsome! ;)
