VPI.Net in Irvine, California is seeking 3 full time Game Artists capable of participating in all phases from concept to completion of assets for Shockwave/Flash games. Ideal candidates should be as comfortable with a pencil as they are in the graph editor. We're looking for generalists so experience is necessary; expertise is not essential.
THIS IS A FULL-TIME, ON-SITE IN IRVINE, CA POSTION
Job Requirements:
Experience with 3D Studio Max or Maya
Design appealing characters, props & levels/environments
Create clean efficient models and UV's
Paint convincing texture maps
Setup custom rigs for characters and creatures
Animate characters & creatures
Light scenes to communicate effectively mood and setting
Create 2D assets using Photoshop and Flash
Work on multiple projects in a fast-paced team environment
Pluses:
Experience with Illustrator or Flash a plus
Experience with Mel/Max scripting, Director experience, or Particles & Dynamics are pluses
Abnormal sense of humor and penchant for esoteric jokes always a bonus
Samples:
Samples of 3D and 2D game art such as characters, environments, props, textures, or animation
Traditional Samples (portfolios without traditional samples will not be considered) including sketches, figure drawing, paintings, or sculpture
Breakdown sheet for any collaborative work
