Oil on 8"x10" canvas board. The japanese script was added in photoshop, but I will eventually add it in oil onto the original once the painting dries enough.

hehe nice..
it looks more like a toad to me, its back is a bit fuzzy looking (includeing the edge).

It's definately not a toad. They are known as pacman or horned frogs, this is an albino. Saying that, I would have to say that the eyes are much too far foreward for a pacman frog.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Kon: yeah his back is a bit fuzzy... I was trying to blend it into the background but I wasn't as successful as I would have hoped. It does look a bit hairy.. :D

Slaindriver: ahh you're a frogman I see! The reference I was using didn't show the frog in profile, and I see what you mean about the eyes. I still need to add in the type so I might be able to correct his nose/eyes a bit to be more realistic.

MrVisions: cowbell? It's a frog! :D

It's a good likeness! Before I saw the reference I would have said that it looks too skew to be accurate (especially around the eyes) but it really does look like that :D

I believe Mr. Visions was referring to the SNL cowbell skit here (http://www.gotthegeek.com/flash/cowbell.wmv)

Not meaning your painting, it's true to the yellow, ugly original!
But the real frog, its head is too big, it looks... Wrong! :D
But that has nothing to do with the painting, I assure you...

Why do you think it is called a PACMAN frog Serpian? They are an interesting species. The frog in the pic ate a mouse shortly after the pic.
