personally i find it very disrespectful to buntly say "blank is better than blanks", when i'm sure everyone put the same amount of effort into it. Also since it's a personal opinion it's a bit unjust.
Anyways, i think you guys did a great job. was there a time limit on this?
Landmate, I really think you should start improving your speed by suggesting the overall lighting first then start smothing them out. you leave alot of areas not finished due to time i believe, once you get the full figure sloopy lite it will be easier to see how much time you have to color each individual area. Still what you did due is great, same to everyone else!

no time limit, some messed around with theirs more then others. I myself only spent 20 minutes on the color. it was freeform in nature, everyone made whatever changes they wanted or left what they wanted. just for fun ;)
I decided to do a fast color and some changes, because I observed the different approaches that the others took and tried to take what I could from that.. :)

I'm too lazy to put up a site, but feel free to snoop in my directory. There's nothing interesting there anyway.

About the "blank is better than blank" comment: it wasn't a competition, we were just bored and playing around while in vchat. I don't mind when someone says that a particular one is their favorite, but saying that a particular one is "the best" isn't very nice IMHO.

that is one of the most interesting things i have seen here in a while.
just by looking at them, the different techniques and color coices... they do not seem to be based off the same lineart.
i mean... it's the same freakin lineart, although landmate's clearly shows the tomboyish style of landmate girls with the mononoke like facepaint while skrubbles made her look like your standard anime heroine.
bloodstone's looks like a supermodel with a huge revenge job to do and prom's... well... i always ask myself why those beautiful girls choose to walk around in body armor carrying guns but then again, i say it's fine like that ;)
hell, even the cups he painted look like the little wingie things he often places all aroundhis mechs ;)

these are all fantastic, each one has it's own personality and style, it's really cool to see how like 5 or whatever differnet people take an image and make it there own, or even a topic for that matter (like DSG, check it out every day 2pm central time (for EU) and again at 8pm central - shamless plug) anyway really cool stuff. and this may sound like a dumb question but what is VChat? is that like opencanvas or something where you can chat and draw at the same time? sounds interesting if that's what it is.... thanks good stuff!!!

Nice work indeed, luvin the diversity in styles. Just makes me want to paint more :D . Even though i cant right now, got stuff to do for school and a shortfilm to work on. Gotta get ready for the industry almost about to graduate.
