I'm currently looking for an art school (pref that have a gaming class) so far to the best of my knowledge Gnomon is really the only way to go or the local CC in LA.
I recently heard that the ITT tech inst. in Oxnard will have a video game modeling class in 2004 which sounds really neat.
but I was curious if I left any schools out in the LA region or any part of southern Cali?
And if anyone attended one of them I like to hear your input.

There's the Otis Art Institute, which is right in L.A.
I couldn't find the website for it, but it's a big school.

Gnomons probably your best bet, they got good stuff happening up there. good instructors and equipment.

Try USC. I did a computer class there once. I don't know if they have a computer arts program, but it'd be worth a try.

I would honestly suggest gnomon. I went through the certificate program. I actually just finished about two months ago. I've had two job offers since than. One in game and the other in film. I took the games. I was actually only looking for about 3 days. That's not to say it happens to everybody but I have notice that the people that work their ass of are all working already except for one out of the group. And he hasn't send his reel out. Its allot of work. But well worth it. I know its super expensive now. So that plays a big factor. Just something that I thouhgt I mention. I've ran into people at gnomon that have tried some of the schools mentioned above at the end they just end up at gnomon. Good luck if you have the money try taking the intro class with a teacher name Marcel.
You can email ask me anything you want about it.
