Hello, I have been stalking art in CA for some time now but only joined now and decided I might as well post something. I'd appreciate some critique :D
I just started in art high school a month ago but haven't had any art courses yet, and haven't had any time to draw lately, so here's some of the slightly older digital sketches. (I rarely do anything but sketches)

EDIT: Oh yeah, and no reference used in these.

Oh yeah, and no reference used in these
I'd like to see some life drawing and or anatomy drawing from reference. Its a common misconception about using reference, that its "cheating" or better if you don't.
While its great to be able to draw a person, face, creature, or whatever without reference, its also a lot of hard work and studies from reference and life that will get you to the point of not using reference and making it look like you did (or just make it look more believable). And in the end many of the professionals still use reference, there is no reason not to, if in doubt :)
You've obviously got a lot of potential and I'd love to see you do some drawings from reference, or better, a live model if possible. The more of that you do, the better your pictures without reference will begin to look :)
Take care and I look forward to seeing more

Marie: Thanks for the input.
I'd love to do some life/anatomy studies, 99% of what I draw are people. :)
Being in the art high school now, I have to sweep trough all the basic arts this year, but for the 2nd year there's a course especially for Human, and a life-drawing course. I'm going to take them both. :)
I haven't drawn from photo reference in a while, I looked trough my stuff and only found some old simple face sketches like this.
The higher ones don't even have shadow, but I blame it on me being 14 at the time. ;)

I did the two upper ones last year, and that lower one about 2 months ago.

I like your work, and i think than you have some "good hand".
About the draws, I think than the best than you can do is practice... You have some talent and that must to be well spend.
Ah, another thing is than I see a lot of melancholy in yours paint... Is that bad? I don't think so...just, when the people will see your painting, will feel like that.

You are going to love the life drawing classes if you like to draw people. After my first life drawing class in college I was hooked.
Keep practicing and get into the habit of drawing whenever you can, whatever is there, it will help your mental library immensly. In the meantime there are some good tutorials over in our tutuorials section that are a great resource.
take care :)

Marie: I'm looking forward for the classes now :} I'll go read the tutorials and yeah, I'm trying to take it as a habit to draw when I'm in the train on my way to school & back. Thanks a bunch!
Coto: Thanks, I'll keep on practising. Melancholy is not bad, I often draw when I'm feeling melancholic so maybe that's why. :rendered:
I was critiqued some months ago about my drawings lacking emotion so I'm still learning it. The melancholy might be too because I like to make the eyes heavy,
so that the first thing you'd notice would be the eyes;
