very nice love the tree but it does look a tad bit too blurry overall so far......

I agree, work on that blurriness. I like how the door fits in between the roots, usually i always see a bigger door. Are you going to add the inhabitants? Looks good, so far.

Since you have your values in place...what I would suggest is to start pushing the darker values and add stronger detail lines...this should kill some of the blur...

The leaves over the window and by the door look contrived, even more than a door and a window in a tree would be.

The roots themselves are too short and unrealistic looking. Tree roots are usually pretty massive things, for all the water and nourishment they have to get to the top of the tree. These look like stunted carrots.

Technicalities aside, what are your plans for the rest of the piece? You've drawn the main focus in the bottom center third of the canvas. Bark texturing won't cut it for attention value, so what are you planning to put up there?
