Soon I am going to be looking for an artist for a epic fantasy comic, mangish style, but I am wondering how much time I should be looking to give the artist to complete the assignment.

I'm looking for digital (or good pencil & inked) B&W pages with a Full Colour Cover (Front & Back).

Example: For my current project, my artist (friend) is producing a comic a week, but he also has another job.

I know this depends on a lot of factors (speed of artist, complexity, etc.) but I am looking for a ballpark figure. I'm not trying to rush the artist, but I have to plan around this time allotment.

What should the # of days per page time should I give?

Thanks for your responses,

Graeme

From my experience, it will take 1 1/2 days to finish a page (or a two pages spread) of pencilling, digital inking, toning and lettering. It also depends on the complexity of the page, like how many panels and how detail the background it is.

It's all depend, but I think most artist will drawing faster and faster once they get used the story.
