no wallet? no keys?

sometimes I have a pen on me. if it's jacket or coat weather (and thus I have more pocket room) I'll usually have my moleskin and/or Canon SD200 as well

Well... I haven't tried drawing with my wallet yet. There's enough dirt and grime on it tho I bet I could make some cool marks. Hmmm.... *seriously considering this*

Any pencil will do for me. I am not picky about the tools, as long as i have the paper/pencil combo I am fine.

for day to day out and about sketching? most probably use whatever they happen to be holding. Dunno, I get picky with pens sometimes, but when it comes to a pencil, 0.5mm is as technical as I ever get

I just found blu-tack to be a far better eraser than any rubber, so add that to my equipment list.

Pretty much any 0.5 mechanical, except those that have like a rubber 'girdle', those always melt/sag/deform/get blobby. Most my mechanicals are $1 or less and I have to insert the lead from the front on those cuz they're too cheap to have a loading mechanism.

Sumo-Grip mechanicl pencil brand, 0.5 and 0.7mm. I like the big fat rubber grip and it only cost a couple bucks at Utrecht. My pencil can beat up your pencil.

some light-value colored pencil for gestural under-drawing

Magicrub eraser. It's magic, dammit!
