Hey! I started this painting a couple
days ago, and couldn't put it down.
It felt incredible to take hold of the
manic rush and just run with it.
The actual Painting is over 4 feet wide
and 3 feet tall. The .jpgs don't
quite capture all the detail cuz the only
digital camera i have access to is like
2 megapixels...and there was no way i
was gonna try and scan her! lol.
the end.

Very nice. You have a really interesting and refreshing style in this piece, whatever that's worth. I don't know very much about actual artists; my knowledge is limited to technique and execution. For all I know you could have ripped this off from someone else (just kidding:D). Was this influenced by anyone?

lol. :)
after 20+ years of drawing/painting (i'm 24)
i'm incredibly tired of trying to "replicate" life.
so no, the style isn't ripped or copied.
it's just me doing my thing.
though i do think we are all influenced and
inspired by all that surrounds us. even the
birds that crap on our windshields, dirty bastards.

Just so you know, I didn't really think you ripped off your painting from anyone. I know what you mean about being "tired of trying to 'replicate' life." I felt the same way a few years ago and stopped doing any work from life so I could develop more of my own style, which was a big mistake for me. Now when I look at my characters I am not satisfied. I should have kept doing the life drawings while I was striving to find my own unique artistic voice. I'm 21 and even though my style and technique have improved, I don't see much development in the anatomy of my work from when I was 17. You seem to have no problem in that area.
I really do love your work. It is refreshing to see someone take what they have learned and use that to develop their own original ideas. I love the fact that you could accomplish as much as you did on the painting in a couple of days. I am in awe of you.
(Sorry to go on like this, I am super tired. Gotta stop watching late night TV!!!)

yikes
there's a medical term for this isn't there? (I mean your fixation, not her genitals). I want to make jokes about her hanging around Peter Pan too often, but I'll stop giving you a hard time - I personally like to see artists that don't censor themselves, and kinda surprised we don't see more explicit material around here

If you claim that this is Slightly Explicit I would hate to see what you think is explicit or hardcore.

man she is horny:-)
seriously though it has a naive art feel to it, You dont have to be origonal to prove that you can if you enjoy pushing boundaries then yeh do it otherwise just draw what you enjoy drawing.

jon does awesome stuff. i haven't talked with him for awhile
but he's an amazing artist.
it was done in chalk/pastel on packaging paper.

yeah the limbs in the piece are very wayshak-esque.
wayshak isn't replying to emails lately, been trying to get him on this forum. what a stiff...
