nice stuff.....really good...alot of improvements over the bridge piece....maybe you should consider giving the robot legs or something..cause it just looks broken or something.....and i think the values are too warm.

Really nice!
Especially the light is good. The light areas on the floor seem very realistic.
Keep up the good work!

Well, I for one am really responding to this piece. It could be the fact that I'm a dyed in the wool robot freak, it could be the fact that I really enjoy somber, dark emotionally impactive art. It could be the the superb handling of light and composition. It could very well be, (and most likely is) a combination of all of the above.

In short, excellent piece.

and for what it's worth, I enjoy the fact that he's got no legs. It adds to the supremely defiant nature to the beast. And I've always been a fan of warm undertones. I feel they evoke an associative response in the viewer as we humans usually associate warm undertones as alive (rosy cheeks, full red lips, etc.) and cool undertones as dead, (corpse grey, dead fish white, etc.) and we're naturally inclined to be drawn to the alive...

Not to say that Giang is wrong mind you. Just adding fuel to the fire.

Things I would suggest to look at for the next piece? I would like to see a little more attention paid to the elements in the front. Just because they're not the focus of attention doesn't mean they don't play a vital role in the piece. It's obvious that your love lay almost wholly with the robot as the rest of the elements seem slightly rushed.

Brian.

PS- LOL I thought I would finally a post in before Jon but the slippery bastard snuck one in whilst I was spell checking!

Very nice painting. It has a lovely feel to it.

I think it's a little confusing what the shapes of the robot really are meant to be... Some of the replys here speak of missing legs etc. But I'm seeing a head and and a hand.... ?

Ofcause it doesn't matter if people interpret an image differently... But from an illustrators viewpoint I like to know what I'm looking at :)
