hi, i just got a new 20" iMac G5 a few days ago, and i've been having trouble with my wacom (a small graphire 3)

first it didnt work, so i had to download the new driver from the website. and now it lags for a slight second (but enough to notice and get annoyed ^-^) everytime i click something. like a folder or internet link etc etc.

im using my mouse now, 'cos it got too annoying. if you click&drag it doesnt lag (so painting in painter is fine), but if you just click and then "let go" (or simply move the pen off the tablet, you know?) it lags.

anyone else had this problem? at first i thought it was the computer lagging, but its a brand new G5 ^-^ and nothing else lags, only when i click.

here's hoping someone else has experienced this and can help.

My tablet works great with my G5 but you may want to try a couple of places with more knowledge & experience with your hardware. First 2 places I would go would be Apple's G5 support forum (http://discussions.info.apple.com/webx?14@403.M3OhaQHHSVo.1@.5998b321) and Wacom's support page (http://www.wacom.com/productsupport/contact.cfm).

Good luck.

1- Congrats on the iMac...
2- http://www.wacom.com/productsupport/region.cfm is all I can find, unless you want a pretty quick response, this'd be the best option.

EDIT - Bah! Got beaten to it...

Re-Edit - Maybe you've got it plugged into the keyboard? If so, maybe plugging it directly to the iMac would speed it up (normally a problem)

hey thanks you guys.
asoir, i thought you hit the nail on the head there! it was plugged into the keyboard, so i pluged it into the USB at the back of the mac, but it still didnt help. i tried restarting but still no luck. ah well was a good idea.
i'll try the links you two gave me.

thanks again

Not sure what the problem is but I can almost guarantee it's not processor lag or anything like that. Your G5 has more than enough juice. I use a wacom on my G4 Mac Mini and it works just fine.. no lag. So a G5 should handle it smoothly.

Not sure it's the same problem as yours, but it might be of some help.

I have a Graphire and a eMac and don´t have any problems. I know it's little help, but at least you can almost discard an OS related problem.
