k well ive been doing a lot of perspective drawings lately on paper and i want to start doing them on the comp, should i use the pen tool or what to make those straight lines that are necessary in perspective drawings? what i like about thepen tool is it makes a straight line in any direction, not simply horizontally or vertically. what i dont like about pen tool is each different line is a layer, so by the time you finish a sketch youd have TONS of layers, and that annoys me, and for some reason, when i try to merge them, the line dissapears. So is there a better tool for this type of project?

on pc, with the brush tool, mark one mark (one click) at a point. THEN hold down shift, and click somewhere else (no dragging). this will join the 2 points with a line in the brush you have selected. the only problem with this is that you will constantly have to retry lines to get them lining up in correct places
the good thing about using the line tool is you can see your line while your moving it around before you place it.
to make it not disappear, you have to right click its layer (shape1 etc) and hit 'rasterize'. it will then become a normal layer, and you can merge down.
