Flip, this was definitely pushing it for me... Took me ages but I learnt heaps! First time trying to define shape without outlines, first time trying to work out a pallette, first time trying to go for anything realistic really...

Thanks man. Wasnt that creative since I just tried to make it look like the ref photo as much as possible, choosing my own colors and trying to pay attention for a couple of hours. :^^;: Still looks pretty cartoony though

something I don't get the chance to do enough off. Was fun working out the details without reference. Hour and half, ellipses were killing me again.

An experiment designed to introduce chlorophyll as an alternative energy source for astronauts - "Project Greenthumb" went horrible wrong once it reached the primate testing stage. It seems the virus on which the engineered genetic sequence mutated and created toxins which destroyed soft tissues.
Here is a specimen infected with Green Death as it soon became to be known.

hamsta - a year in a row? Come to think of it, I do remember seeing an awful lot of your quirky descriptions while lurking here. Nice work, particularly liking this one for mood and your jetpack one for detail.

goran - really like your style, looks like you dont waste a single brush stroke. cool colours too.

machzero - A Mister Two, i take it? Those details look really convincing. Did you start with a sketch or is it 100% digital?

Pillick - done pics of a friend's mister two before, but this one has elements from a couple of cars. Sketched completely in photoshop, same with the perspective lines. If I had a real draughting table, it'll be a lot easier working on paper.

This topic brings out the nerd in me. Come to think of it, the nerd in me is pretty close to the surface so I guess it wasn't that hard.

jarhead1 -I like it alot. I find myself useing gradients like that alot lately.
Nottingham - Your vector style is always refreshing
xenos-Nice job man looking great.
Octothreat - Clearly it doesn't take much to stimilate your imagination
Hamsta - Holy crap, how did you get a whole year in. Hard Core. Good job on the monkey and story.
machzero-It shows that you put a lot of effort in on the details.

-oregano, your elf(?) looks excellent, but then there's all that open left-hand space. (maybe the top of a staff?)

-justin, sweet robot head/torso

-xenos, if ya ever decide to expand on that pic...consider adding the mutilated body of some hapless greenpeace flunky!

-hamsta, a nice quick piece. definitely evokes pity....poor little guy. i think i'll call him mojo

-machzero, GREAT car man! i'm guessing that you're not from the states based on the steering wheel placement.

machzero

atomicsushi - yo, thanks~! No longer in the states, but my personal car still has its californian tags. And I'll drive any right or left hander, as long as it's manual.

Just some random comments:

Crazy Harij: To be honest, I am not seeing anything more than just abstract here. Not really getting a "sketch" vibe from it.

Tunguska: Nice! simple and cute. Good job.

George guy: I think its time to get some new markers. Those are looking a little dried out. I think its really dragging your sketch down.

Justin W: Nice rendering. :D Background fits really well!

atomicsushi All those smudges are making this somewhat psychadelic, I actually like it :)
Hard to see that creature as a wolf, the head likes totally alien, you need better scale indication, it looks horse size to me, some of the anatomy looks uncomfortable - the pose, the machine jamming into his front shoulder.

Fal$eProfit That is a real ugly brute (that's a compliment ;) ) looks like your heading the right way with the lighting and with anatomy, but I find the bg and the very thick black lines very distracting, also, the stick dosen't look like it's one piece, but three, try to keep the line weight the same and the lines continous.

Pillick Good job on the realism front, however, that frog looks too flourescent.
The dots work very well on the rock, not so well in the bg as they are too abstract and somewhat competing for attention.
