[ I know I said something about leaning more toward fantasy, recently.]

[ I think I actually meant something else.]

[ I think I actually meant: more sci-fi.]

[ Don't worry, though...]

[ ... I'll make sure to toss in a dragon, or something, soon.]

[ And, by dragon, I mean: robot.]

[ ;) ]

Looking great as usual, machzero!

[ I think I actually meant: more sci-fi.]

I love you.

I'll come up with something soon.

pretty much interchangable... scifi and fantasy

and it's not as if people follow the topics that religiously in the first place

How about something realistic? hehe, I tend to ignore that first definition part as it used to be redundant (i.e. enviorment: red desert.) anyways, onward:
Once again humanity is faced with disaster, as a greek transport ship suffers from a series of explosions nearby a Mediterranean port city. The future is unclear as rescue teams move in to rescue the crew, contain the oil spill and investigate the reasons for the catastrophe (could it be a terrorist act?)

MachZero: Nice work on both. I like the perspective on the first piece.

Hamsta: Very nice work for a quick piece. Like the way you did the ship.

OK, well I misread the topic. I thought it said vehicle. So I did this one first:

Then I did this one after with a vessel:

Spent about 30mins total on both.

Hamsta, Its hard to see that the large ship is in trouble. I think more smoke plumes would help, maybe even the flames that are the source of the smoke. Also, I don't know how much a problem an oil slick would be on a regular cargo ship and not a tanker

Goran that is mind-boggingly awesome.

First daily sketch thread, 3rd time experimenting with photoshop.

Goran - That's awesome. It feels like the ship on the right is a little off, like it's diving or going in a different direction. Nice work though, compelling composition.

Pillick-Dang, I think we are twins lost at birth or something. I did mine totally before seeing yours. Actually I think your take is a bit cooler

Ha! crazy coincidence, huh? And I thought my idea was so random :er:

True that, I have to say that it was really sort of a what the hell moment. It must be what a girls feel like when they end up with the same dress at the prom.

Are you saying you feel the urge to call me a bitch, slap my face, pull my hair, then storm off crying to the nearest bathroom, where 5 of your closest most like-minded girlfriends will spend the next half hour cleaning up your mascara and consoling you with comments about how pretty you look?

...me too...

I failed to actually include the emergency vehicles... got caught up mostly in technique, and when I tried to get the e.v.'s in there it just looked rotten.
Decided to post anyway.

Came out better than I expected, but not much time spent on it.

Will Chill I should find out about the oil thing, mostly likely I'll be too lazy too :)
The snowcat looks a little off on the perspective, the roof in particular.
The while pic looks very flat, especially the plane/space shuttle, I'd expect the shading to be much darker. The fire seems to cast no light, and your airbrush is very splotchy.

darkchild Your making life hard, damn double images :P The first one is much better, both in forms and in composition.
You also have a splotchy airbrush :D
I think the fire casts too much light for such a bright day, and I'm not clear on what exactly it is that's burning... I dig the car and the sense of movement it has flying off the road.

Quick, quick, quick. Just had to do something for this one.

A large cruiser is going down in a storm, two transport vehicles are sent to salvage as many of the passengers as possible.
