My english sucks but I'll try anyway
I like it, and I like you tecnique. from what I can see a lot of different ways to render the lighting and form, and that is fine, but maybe you should try to limit it a bit.
I can see that the stroke types are applied to different areas and follow certain rules (the fish has dots and parrallel lines, the bg has crosshatch, and so on...) but as they say, less is more
still I think that the fish has a nice 3D feeling about it.
I don't know how big it is (300 px high?) but you should try to post at a higher res, so we can see more details if it is as complex an image as this.

hey is this ed angel sophmor illustration major at ringling submitting brandis's famous fish assignment for media class?
anyhow i like how you handled yours.
