View Full Version : .ssd files? - Painter works like Open Canvas

I've noticed in Painter that "scripting" works like open canvas, where you record your painting process and play it back. But I can't find any .ssd files that other artist have made anywhere online (not just CA)! As popular as open canvas and that other link to that site that records how people draw, you'd think this would be as popular? Is this just something that's practically unknown or something that people just don't like for some reason?

I know the Russian artist Anry has one available (http://www.anry.ru/gallery/tyrael_knight/tyrael_knight_eng.htm) but it is painfully slow. I don't remember if there is a fast-forward option in Painter's playback. If there is, you should use it.

thanks for the link, figure2. It seems to go pretty fast when playing back in painter, for me anyway. It wouldn't load the pallet or brushes that he used, proably because he used custom brushes perhaps? Or maybe it's my Painter.
If i was reading it right, he never used any layers at all. and just used that pen/scratchboard tool the whole time! that's unbelieveable. Plus, he would just move from one little area to the next, never working on the right side, then back to the left or anything like that. It really weirds me out seeing how other people do their process.
