Hey all,
It's a few days till I go back to school now and i'm suppose to have done a load of art work to catch up on my coursework (Coursework is like a 'side thing' you have to do as well as exams to get marks). Here's what I've done so far.

http://outer-heaven.net/misc/art/brickboypencil.gif (http://outer-heaven.net/misc/art/brickboypencil.jpg) http://outer-heaven.net/misc/art/brickboypastel.gif (http://outer-heaven.net/misc/art/brickboypastel.jpg) http://outer-heaven.net/misc/art/brickboyphoto.gif (http://outer-heaven.net/misc/art/brickboyphoto.jpg)
(the pastel one is unfinished)

I'm now stumped on what to do next. I'd like to paint something but i'm not so good at it and I don't know what I could paint. I have all the tools ready for me to use, jsut no inspiration.

Thing about my school is that it's christian and so it doesnt like people doin gory or evil lookin stuff... and so in the last few years i've lost my "creativity".

Anyways, the point of this thread is for you guys to give me some feedback on what i've done so far, and also suggestions on what I could do for my next piece. 8)

Thanks
-seb

:tihi:

I'm meant to have done a project on samurais and am currently doing only my second illustration :x , it is for a whole project. What are you doing this for, what is the coursework on, have you got a subject to do research and art on. I have to make a sketchbook on Samurais, research on Japanese art, make paintings drawings etc. Could you explain in further depth what you are meant to be doing your coursework on?

OH wow, Samurais- that'd be somethin I'd like to do.

What are you doing this for, what is the coursework on, have you got a subject to do research and art on.
:nohope: My coursework can be on anything, this one you could say was on portraits I guess. Don't really need to reasearch anything. Are you doing GCSE too?

The crucifixion?

Typically, it's either really, really gory, or very divine-esque.

And you won't be sent to the psyche ward. Learn to work the system. :)

This site has a ton of resources for anatomy - of which I'm using.

Think about it though; it gives you character practice. You can do something gory or macabre (satan, lots of dark things to explore there). You can get some practice on landscapes and environments.

I want to go to your school; our art program sucks.

I go to an ART highschool and our Visual art program sucks. Hell, our Martial Arts program has a bigger fan base. We have 2 teachers from Ringling, and one from pittsburgh. Most of them just suck at art and didnt take anything from their big important schools, and the 2 art teachers that went to smaller colleges are the best at actaully teaching, and could care less about showing off their own art.

Do potrayls of God. I draw god sometimes, for fun, because you let your iamgination run wild. Draw an angel playing or better yet, tuning an acoustic guitar. Cool creative stuff. Gory doesn't always equal cool- Like in videogames. Peace, from another 15 year old!

I just finished my gcse art course and got an A*. To help you with that you need to tell me what sort of 'subject' or task was given. Like for example we had a cultural project ( i looked at various headdresse and ended up making a samurai helm) and for my final exam it was 'human form'. The first step of this started off with sketches of people runnning etc, a couple of self portraits and then i moved onto art history and connection. I did some esher, henri moore and stan lee (marvel comics) studies and explaned how each of them differed on human form. For my final piece i made my own comic page ( featuring stan lees 81/2 heads instead of 61/2) on a 7*3 canvas. Basically you need to develope and take this further than simply the same picture in different mediums to get the marks.
