When I tell my guys at work to watch out for electrostatic discharge, this wasn't what I had in mind.

Well, here's my first Open Canvas picture. I've worked out why it's gone white around the edges, but I'll have to start over if I want to fix them...:nohope:

Don't make me do it again...

Alright here's my piece, sorry no buildings you'll have to use your imagination.

Sorry I'm trying to work in some time for the DSG. It's getting harder now with my current projects. But I managed to get about 20min on this piece. I just didn't have time for the buildings. I was gonna put them in, honest:)

llothcat: awesome angle!

machzero: nicely stylized as always. The captions are funny as hell.

Wolfess: Nice work... creative thinking on the topic.

Eriboss: Lovely inks as usual. Great cyberpunk feel to it. Almost reminds me of some of the preconceptual art to The Matrix. Actually Matrix meets Tim Burton:)

Obi-one: You and I sort of had the same idea. Great minds think alike.

l.e.b: Great creative thinking!

voraz: cool perspective! That helicopter better watch out!

Felt like doing something a bit different today, and i dont have photoshop or any good means of getting pics onto a computer while i'm on Holiday
SO i did this one ALL in good ol' fashioned paint.

took about 20 mins

Carpet Man - the horror of Detour City, able to transform into any sort of rug, carpet or mat this guy can sneak into almost any building. He can also cause electro static discharges, harmful to unshielded electronics, and can even cause respiratory problems to inflame. ;)
painter, hour?

I've been working on this thing all day. Probablly like 4 hours.

darkchild- those flame discharges are rad. Your 20 minutes is like what would take me over an hour. :er:
Hamsta- Carpet man, that funny as hell. :}
Obi-one- The way you did the glow on the arms and legs is money. :O
machzero-The two eyes on there kinda makes me feel drunk, :nohope: like I'm seeing double. I like the texture stuff you put on him. It reminds me of that Tron 2 pc game.

stitches: cool design! More of an abstract feel to it.

Hamsta: LOL:) I like that blurb about the carpet, nicely painted figure.

goran: what can I say but.... holy crap! Awsome. Love the character design and the dark futuristic feel.

fal$eprofit: I always type your user name incorrectly at first. That '$' is throwing me off:) I like what you did. You spent a bit more time on your piece and came up with something cool. Love the pose and the 'electrostatic' arms. Great expression also. Thanks for the props, but I like the way you represented the charge better.

Tungusta: Nice concept. No offense but I like the original pencils (pen?) better. You pulled off a more convincing "electrostatic charge" than the colored version. Awesome.

Nottingham: Nice mood, too bad you didn't finish the city. It looks awesome so far.

books: A lonely villain..lol. I also like the mood and darkness of this piece. I like the more machine feel to your character.

darkchild Don't stick your saber in me - but that smudge, ugh!
something strange going on with the body - looks like it's only half of it, the heads position looks wrong.
What's going on with the shading? looks like a comic tones kind of thing.

Fal$eProfit I think you over did the glow effects, they are distracting.
I like the mad expression with the hair sticking out, I would guess he got that way crouching in those painful poses.
The skin isn't very convincing as such, looks like the same vinyl as the pants, is it electric protection of some sort :P

Hamsta: no saber for you yet... Ahh, 20min job on that piece. More like I did it in my sleep. I never finished it. It's good practice for me on PS. The smudge tool is my friend:) All HAIL TO THE SMUDGE TOOL!! ahahahahaha!!

Not particularly happy with the way this one turned out, but hey this is a sketch thread right. I gues it's not bad for my first purely digital piece, still have to get used to the wacom.

It came out a little Frank Miller-ish

This is the first DSG thing I've ever done. Took a more comic-centric approach with it.
