So... yeah, this is my first post on CA. Just like so many others.... >.>

In any case, I go by the name Taco. Currently a student at the much praised/hated SCAD, majoring in Interactive Design/Game Development while minoring in Sequential Art. My ultimate goal is to work at for a game developer doing... something. Not sure yet, as my modeling and environment skills are not where I want them to be. So I've been riding on my character art for the time being...

Figured by joining CA, I'd be able to get exposure and shamelessly plug my website and maybe attract some attention from cool people or potential employers.

In any case, these sketches here are for two game ideas I had. The first is a kind of RPG I've had stuck in my head for some time now. Here's some samples:

The stereotypical hot head. Yeah, he's only got one arm...

The shy mage girl.

My idea of a chimera being one of the main characters.

Our resident drunk/pirate

Some various beasts of burden. These particular creatures can sail the skies as well as the seas.

Enough RPG stuff. These sketches are from a robot-based game I conceived a few days ago. I want it to be somewhat customizeable, and started sketching various helmet designs for the robots' heads. So these are some of the designs I came up with:

That's all I have for now. If anyone wants to see some other work of mine, you can take a look at my website:

Thank you very much for viewing and good bye for now.

Very nice characters. I especially like your website. All I would suggest is to clean them up a bit, but I think other than that they are really good. Keep it up.

Okay, then. Any request for how "4-Eyes" should look? :)

Well, I'm back at SCAD doing time for my third year.

This is a one page project that I did for a sequential art assignment. I wish it could have been two pages, so I could draw some of the panels larger, but it worked out in the end. The script my professor gave us involved a conversation between two people; one person was supposed to tell the other that they didn't love them. The second person responds in anger. So I decided to do a dragon and a young woman (presumably a princess). People thought I was a bit strange for having the dragon be the one dumping the princess :D It will be inked and the refined dialogue added in later.

i really like the fluidity of the facial sketches at the top. very loose and promising. the comic pages seem rushed or like you felt like you were running out of space. when i'm doing multiple panels on a page i draw them out seperately on different pages then cut and paste them together...just an idea. helps me not be worried about my line work spilling into another panel.

keep posting!

Actually, I took quite a bit of time on it. The professor doesn't want us inking it yet and I am probably one of the world's messiest sketchers (I admit it; it's a bad habit of mine that I'm trying to fix)

These panels were drawn directly on the 11 x 17 bristol board; however, that isn't how I actually prefer to do my comics. My prefered process is to make semi-detailed thumbnails that are half the final size, scan them, separate the color channels, then print and enlarge for final pencil sketch and inking.

I'll look into your cutting and pasting in the future. That sounds very promising.
