Hey,
(A little background) I'm going into my second year of illustration at sheridan. I moved home for august, but I left all my art supplies at college (perhaps a stupid decision) so I've really only been drawing with my tablet.
It's been awkward... i find dry media far easier, but for someone that spends most of his time drawing with conte being forced to actually choose my values from a digital pallette has been quite the learning experience.
These are photoshop.

A friend of mine was the reference for this. I created the transparent effect using a layer mask.
The hamster wheel bothers me... for someone who has taken first year object drawing I think I should be smacked in the face for what I did to it.

Portrait of a friend done from several photos she sent me.

This is Haratio Cane from CSI. I don't think i nailed the likeness, but most of my friends who have seen the show knew who he was right away.
Thanks for taking a look :)

Painting I banged out from a recent photo. I cropped the edges of the mirror out, but I think it makes it confusing that the viewer is actually supposed to be looking through the surface of a mirror.
Am I right?

I started with this one earlier this evening. I'm having trouble making the smoke look like smoke and not some ghost trapped in her nose (although that might be interesting too)

hey g unit
i am really liking the last one really cool. all around really quality , i especially like the hamster one its one of my favourites of yours.
one thing for the smoke you could do is add more values like as the smoke goes out of the nostrils its gonna be thicker but as it gets out into the atmosphere it fades and tapers.
painting this year is gonna be sweet, i hope i get learnt good.

Since I updated I've spent one full semester back at sheridan. Here's some stuff I came up with from as far back as october... as late as december:
These are some small drawings done in public for a life-drawing homework assignment.... mostly done with incredibly smelly markers and felt tip pen.
I think I was smelling up the food court with my supplies more than the fried ethnic food.

Here's some actual studio life-drawing from last semester. We were urged to use a variety of materials... trouble was the pastels I was using were kinda clunky for the size I was working at.

This here *should* of been a finished project of sorts, but I could really only give it a couple hours because of other obligations.

Small guache final for interpretive illustration class... based on the fortune 'your happiness is intertwined with your outlook on life'... This is the concept the teacher approved me to paint.

Just kinda a weird surreal piece where I distorted the proportions of a shopping mall outside my window and sank it under water -- for a media class assignment.

Here are some quick watercolors we did right at the beginning of the new semester to kinda ease into the new painting unit a bit. These were half hour poses... I obviously need to build up some speed with the brush.

Model got sick and almost fainted so Endregen posed very still for this one.
